During the last year we Lave had oc-' casion to take frequent trips over the j (<eorgia Railroad, and it affords us pleas-; ure to bear testimony to the excellent ’■ arrangement for the comfort and safe-' ty of passengers, and the dispatch of business. There are six passenger Con ductors, viz : A. Webster, E. Webster, : ,1. T. Cox, W. B. Cox, J. P. Verdert, i and J. F.Ckews, all of whom have been i on the road for some time, and are all obliging, polite and thoroughly compe t ut to the dutiesof their position They each have their engineer, firemen, train hands and cars, and everything connect ed with their trains is managed with system and industry. The cars are well warmed, well lighted, passengers are furnished with cool water, and all questions wi answered politely. The track is kept in good condition, and the cars, most of them made in this city, have all the modern improvements for the comfort of passengers. Ail departments of the-Toad are in the hands of competent and careful men. The recent change in the schedule has rendered changes in the eating houses necessary. The up day train breakfasts at SoclalCSrde, and the down day train dines at the Circle. The up night train takes supper at Union Point, The down night train breakfast at Ber ;a-lia. These comprise all the meals ta ken on the road ; and the houses are well known to the travelling public. Ceabk, at Social Circle, gets up & great dinner, and is always ready for any number. Supper House at Union Point ! gives good fare, and Kikkx-atrick's ■ breakfasts are proverbially nice. Noth ing is wanting on the Georgia Railroad, to keep passengers in a good humor. — Who Killed Cock Kuiilu I Who first entered the front cellar door of Messrs. Plumb & Let, nek, and subdued tho devouring element ? Who first poured water upon the troubled oils ? These are questions now agita ting the public mind. One gentleman with daring intrepidity” entered the rear cellar door, some sixty feet from the scene of conflagration, and he, it is said, accomplished an unheard of feat, i The first hose put in the front cellai j door was from the engine *• Georgia.” ' and they claim in part to have subdued j the flames. Information is wanted as , to the real facts in thecas.?, as a leather - medal will be awarded to the ; orson who can show conclusively that he! “ bearded the lion in his den.” Those j who were only “ unusually prompt” j need not apply.
