IN TINT BOTTLES,
IT CONTAINS, in addition to Sarsapa
rilla. ihe Hydro Alcoholic Extract of Queen’s
[Delight, (Stillingia); White Ash, Grey Beard or
j Fringe Tree, (Chionantbus) ; Tincture of May
I Apple or Mandrake, (Podophyllum), and Blood
j Root (Sanguinaria.)
In small doses it is Alterative or laxative; in
large do.ses it acts generally as a mild purgative
—with some as an active purgative. In some
; cases no perceptible action on the bowels is ex
j perienced, yet iu Liver Complaints, or in Dis
east-s arising from an impure -tate of the Blood.
! its continued use causes a marked improvement
ia the general health.
, As an alterative or laxative, it has Bes-u found
j useful in Constipation of the Bowels, Jaundice,
! Bilious Fever, Fever aud Ague. Sick Headache’
i Dizziness, various Female Complaints. Chronic
! Affections of the Liver, Secondary Syphilis, and
, Syphiloid Diseases, Scrofulous Affections, Sores,
j Ulcers, Blotches, Cutaneous Eruptions or Dis-
I eases of the Skin, and all other diseases in which
Sarsaparilla or alterative medi inea are indi
! cated.
That it acts upon the Liver, may bo known
from the fact that iu Jaundice or cases of Bilious
[ ness it causes free bilious evacuations, readily
removes unnatural yellow tinge about the eyes,
I and upon the skin, and improves the health and
j spirits.
those who have tried this Alterative for Af
fections of the Liver, have found that it effects
a cure naturally and gradually, by improving the
health, aud that but little or no other medicine
is necessary iu these affections.
Its healthy action on the Liver and purifying
effect upon the blood, made it a great preventive
of sickness. For children, this is generally all
tho purgative that is necessary to be given, and
as often as othorwise, is all th“ medicine that is
necessary to be given, especially to those tr« vb
bled with worms, or a debilitated state of health.
A preparation of Sarsaparilla, known to be
good, is greatly needed, to keep the liver healthy
and tuc blood pure. Those who try it will find
themselves richly paid, by greatlv preventing
j sickncasand saving Doctor’s bills. *
