Express—Always Ahead. We are indebted to this enterprising and indefatigable company for the Pres ident's Message in advance of the mail. They brought through about one hun dred copies, for the Southern press, on yesterday at 1 o’clock. We, this morn ing, received a copy by mail from our Washington correspondent. jsr As most of our compositors were employed in setting on the President's Message, which we enclose as an extra to our subscribers, our paper does not contain its usual variety to-day. Burton. We are pleased to see it announced in posters that Burton, the great corn median, will play an engagement at Concert Hall in a short time. —— Seed Oats. Carmichael & Co. have recently re eeiwpd two choice lots of seed oats, one was raised in Canada, and the other in Maryland. Both are very su perior in quality, and those from Canada are the heaviest we have seen. Our planting frieuds would do well to sup ply themselves before they are all sold. s|ippmg liifcllipte. PROLIFIC COTTON SEED PLANTERS are informed that I have succeeded in producing a Prolific Cotton that yields more to the stalk than any I have ever seen. Being fond oi experim nt, I iiave tried, for the last twenty-five years, every va riety of Cotton that promised a large yield, and have found nothing that equals my present stock of Seed. It is a Hybrid of the Boyd’s and other Prolifics with the Petit Guif. I have stalks now in my office, Fonr feet high, with 155 bolls on it. Three feet high, with.... 125 ; ‘ “ Two feet high, with... .75 “ “ As many as two hundred and fifty bolls and lorins have been counted on a lew large stalks. Every person who has seen my crop pronounce it the heaviest boiled cotton they ever saw. One planter pulled off a limb, twelve inches long, having nine bolls on it. As this Cotton does not limb as long as Petit Gulf, it can be-planted closer in the row and drill, thus securing a greater number of stalks to the acre. I will fill orders for Seed at One Dollar and Twenty-five Cent.: per bushel, sacked in new cotton sacks, and delivered in Augusta, and for warded as directed. Address GEORGE SCHLEY. egyG ctf Augusta, Georgia. Wanted, $3,000, SECURED by mortgage on Real and Personal Estate double the amount. Apply at this office. novlo-tf JAMAICA RUM.
