Saturday was a warm day, but yestet-. day was warmer. There was no comfort unless the zephyr of tho South wns permitted to find away through our casements. This is tube, like it* predecessors, a year of fickle weather, nnd if we are to judge by that of New Year's day, more fickle. On that day the morning Sun wus obscured by clouds, which threatened heavy showers, hut a South-Wester rttovo, nt noon, those clouds nwny, nnd the Sun shone iu Ids brilliancy up.on our hopes, enhanced ns they were by tho dawn of another yeur. »Tis thus with human life, in somo degree.
