The Ice Crop. —lce*cut'.mg operations h the vicinity of New York have been discontinued for the season. The result is that not more than from one-third to one half a crop lias been housed, and that portion secured is generally >f an inferior quality. Sacking in thickness and solidity, and consequently more petishable. Last year, the ag gregate crop housed bv the New York Ice Compan ies somewhat exceeded £00,0(10 tons. The fumes spread with great ra plaity, and twenty bouses were destroyed before the iire could be subdued.
