Mexican Mustang Liniment.
THIS invaluable preparation has been but a few months
before the people of the South, yet many thousands of
bottles have been sold and used in a great variety of
oiseases, and it has given universal satisfaction. We
h ve heard of none that were dissati-ded with it. We
osier it as a remedy in the various diseases ami com
plaints for which it is recommended, with lull couHdenee
in curing them, as over four millions of Bottles have been
sold and used for a great variety of complaints, both ol
men and animals, and it has always given satisfaction, be
cause it lias performed just what we said it would, it has
healed Cancers and scrofulous sores and ulcers that had
resisted the treatment of tile Medical Faculty.
E2T A child in Fredcriokton, N. 15., a” lew days ago
burned its legs severely against a stove. The mother im
mediately applied Linseed Oil and Cotton Wool, with a
tight bandage over all; in a short time the screams of the
child ittduced the mother to remove tile bandage, when it
was discovered that the cotton wool had taken fire by spon
taneous combustion and had considerably increased tile
size of the buru. The mother happened to think that she
had part ot a bottle ot Mustang Linimeut in her house,
wilieh she got immediately and applied to the burned
limbs of the little sufferer, and as soon as it was applied,
tlie child ceased its cries and soon after fell asleep in its
mother’s arms, by the soothing influence oft:. s valuable
preparation.
This is to certify that the Mexican Mustang Liniment
has been used quite extensively in the stables of Adams bi
Co.’s Great Southern, Eastern and Western Express f„r
curing Galls, Chains,Scratches. Sprains :,d Br'i.;. .'and
it has proved very effectual. Many ot their men have

CONSUMPTION.
BgOf all the numerous medicines extant, (and some of them val
uable) for the cure of pulmonary complaints, nothing has ever
been found which could compare in its effects with this prepara
tion. Others cure sometimes, but at all times and in all diseases
of the lungs and throat where medicine can give relief, this will
do it. It is pleasant to take, and perfectly safe in accordance
with tiie directions. We do not advertise for the information
of those who have tried it but those who have not. Families
that have known iis value will not be without it, and by it* time
ly use, they are secure from the dangerous consequences of
Coughs and Colds which neglected, ripen into fatal consumption.
The Diploma of the Massachusetts Institute was awarded to
this preparation by the Board of Judges in September
also, the medals of the three great Institutes of Art, in this coun
try; also the Diploma of the Ohio Institute at Cincinnati, has
been given to the Cherry Pectoral, by their Government in con
sideration of its extraordinary excellence and usefulness in cur
ing affections of the lungs and throat.
Read the following opinion founded on the long experience of
the eminent Physician of the port and city of
St. Johns, Mty 8, 1851.
Dr. .1. C. Ayer: Five year’s trial of your Cherry Pectoral in my
practice, has proven what I foresaw fre m its composition, must
be true, that it eradicates and cures the colds and coughs to
which we, in this section, are peculiarly liable.
I think its equal has not yet been discovered, nor do I know
how a better remedy can be made for the distempers of the
throat and lungs. J. J. Burton, M. D., F. R. 8.
See what it has done on a wasted constitution, not only in the
following cases, but a thousand more:
Scdbury, Jan. 24th, 1851.
Dr. Ayer : In the month of July lust I was attacked by n violent
diarrhoea in the inn.es of California. I returned to San Francis
co in hope of receiving benefit from a change of climate and diet.
My diarrhoea ceased, but was followed by a severe cough—and
much soreness. I finally started for home, but received no bene
fit from the voyage. My cough continued to grow worse, aid
when I arrived in New York, l was at once marked by my ac
quaintances as a victim of consumption. 1 must confess that I
saw no sufficient reason to doubt what my friends all believed.
At fhistime 1 commenced taking your truly invaluable medicine
with little expectation of deriving any benefit from its use. Yon
would not receive these lines did 1 not regard it my duty to state
to the afflicted, through you, that my health, in the'spaceof eight
months, is ftuly restored. 1 attribute it to the use of your Cher

Dear sir: Feeling that I have been spared from a premature
grave, through your instrumentality by the providence of God, I
will take the liberty to express to you my gratitude.
A cough and the alarming sympt ms of consumption had re

physician brought me abettlcof your “Pectoral.” It seemed to
afford immediate relief, and now in a few weeks time has restor

HOLLOW A Y'S OINTMENT.
A MOST MIRACULOUS CURL OF BAD LEGS.
AFTER 43 YEARS’ SUFFERING.
Extract of a letter from Nr. William Galvin, of 70 St.
Mary's street, Weymouth, dated 15 th May, 1851.
To Professor Holloway .
Fir: At theagi of eighteen my wife (who is now sixty one)
caught a violeni cold, which settled in her legs, and ever since that
time they have been more or less sore, anil greatly inflamed.
Her agonies were distracting, and lor months together she was
deprived entirely ol rest and sleep. Every remedy that medical
men advised was tried, but without effect; her health suffered
severely, and the slate of her legs was terrible. I had often read
your advertisements, and advised her to try your Pills and Oint
ment ; and,as a last resource, after every other remedy had prov
ed useless, she consented to do so. She commenced six -seeks
ago, and strange to relate, is now in good health. Her legs are
painless, without scam or sour, and her sleep sound and undis
turbed. Could you have witnessed the sufferings of my wife
during the last forty three years, and contrast them with her ore
sent enjoyment of health, you would indeed feel delighted in
having been the means of so greatly alleviating the sufferings of
a fellow creature. (.signed) Wh. Galpin.

LEG, OF THIRTY YEARS STANDING.
Copy of a letter from Mr. William Abbs, Builder of Gat

3 1st, 1851.
To Professor Holloway :
Ftr: 1 suffered for a period of thirty years from a bad leg, the
result of two or three different accidents at Gas Works ; accom
panied by scorbutic systems. I had recourse to a variety of
medical advice, without deriving any benefit, and was even told
that the leg must be amputated, yet, in opposition to that opinion,
your Pibs and Ointment have effected a complete cure in soshort
a time, that tew who had not witnessed it would credit tlie fact.

A DREADFUL BAD BREAST CURED IN ONE

To Professor Holloway :
Dear Fir: My wile had suffered from Bad Breasts for more than
six months, and during the whole period had the best inedica
attendance, but all to no use. Having before healed an awful
wound in my own leg by your unrivalled medicine,l determined
i again to use your Pills and Ointment, and therefore gave them a
trial in her case, and fortunate it w si did so, for in less than a
month a perfect cure was effected, anil the benefit that various
other branches of my family have derived from the r use is really
astonishing. I now strongly recommend them to all my friends.

The Best Female Medicine Known.
The peculiar maladies to which females are subject, commonly
produce great bodily exhaustion, accompanied by a depressed
and often gloomy state of mi mi. As the system declines in
strength, there isaloss of nervous power, and this very naturally
impairs the energy ofthe. mind and disturbs the equanimity of
the temper. Every candid woman who has suffered from female
complaints will admit this to be the mournful truth. Now, to
obtain relief, n is ouly necessary to stop the tendency to deple
tion and debility. This is done by renewing that fountain of
health and streugth, the Blood, and no medicine accomplishes
this desirable result so speedily amt complete as “Dr. Guysott's
Improved Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla.”
Ladies of pale complexion and consumptive habits, and such
as are debilitated by those obstructions which females are liable
to, are restored, by the use of a bottle or two, to bloom and to
vigor.
Scrofula and Cancer cured by Dr. Guysott's Extract of Yellow
Dock and Sarsaparilla.
Rutledge, Granger county, Tenn., )
April 27,* 1852. )
J. D. Park, Esq., Cincinnatti, O.—Dear Sir : It gives me great
satisfaction to add iny testimony in favor of “Dr. Guysott's Ex
tract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla,” to that of the numerous
and highly respectable persons who have been bonclited by the
medicine.
My wife has been suffering for the space of nearly five yijars
with Scrofula and Cancer, which, 1 think, found its origin in the
derangements of the system peculiar to her sex, while in the
mean time she was under the care of the most eminent Physi
cians in this section ol country, without deriving any materialaid
from their prescriptions.
Upon the recommendation of Dr. Cockes, one of our physi
cians, who had seen the medicine used with hapj y effect, l ob
tained of your Agents here, “A/essrs. Rice & McFarland,” one
bottle of “Dr. Guysott’s Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsapa
rilla,” andas my wife found relief from that bottle, I bought some
six bottles, which she has taken with the most astonishing bene
fit, for I am pleased to say it has entirely cured her, for she has
entirely recovered from her illness, and the Scrofula and Cancer
are cured sound and well. Accept my gratitude.
Respectfully, ’ Michael Goldman.
Extract ofa letter from an extensive merchant in Plainfield,
Livingston county, Michigan.
Plainfield, Michigan. April 8, 1852.
Mr. John D.Park—Dear Sir: Dr. Guysott’s Yellow Dock and
Sarsaparilla is performing some astonishing cures in this place.
A Mr. S. F. Strickland has just informed me that one of his chil
dren has been entirely cured ofa very severe case ol Scrofula by
the use of only one bottle. He had tried almost every thing that
the Doctors had prescribed, but all ofno avail, as the child con
tinued getting worse. The sores are now all healed up and the
child apparently well, which is justly ascribed to the use ofthe
Yellow Dock ami Sarsaparilla, [signed] Yours, trulv,

DR. GALE’S ANODYNE OF OPIUM.
It is a fact well known that many people are accustomed to
buy and use without the advice of u physician, many of the pre
! parations of Opium, as Laudanum, Paregoric, -Bateman’s Drops,
i Godfrey’s Cordial and the like.
The effect of these medicines is generally known, and while
they are admitted to possess Anodyne and sedative properties
not to be dispensed with they are still liable to serious objections
in many cases and doubtless are often mischievous in their ten
dency.
The new chemical preparation, now submitted to the public, is
believed to possess all their virtues, and even more, without be-
I ing chargeable with their bad effects —neither is this opinion
hastily founded, nor based on limited experience—after a trial
of some years in which this remedy has been placed in the hands
of eminent physicians, and tried indeed under every variety of
circumstance, and in all appropriate cases of disease, it is still
believed to stand unrivalled, not only for its rare credicinal vir
tues as a preparation of Opium, but for the safety with which it
may be administered.

Healing External Wounds.
X>ouncle<i by no geographical lines, the reputation of Barry'*
Tricopherous pervades the Union. The sales of the arti
cle of late years have increased in a ratio that almost exceed*
belief. Professor Barry, after a careful examination of his sultv
book, finds that the number of bottles delivered to order. i n
quantities of from a half gross upward, during the year 1852.
was w ithin a trifle of 950,000.
It is unnecessary to present at length the evidence of the won.
derful properties ot the Tricopherous, when the public have fur
nished such an endorsement as this. The cheapness ofthe article
and tlie explanations given of its chemical action upon the hair,
the scalp, and in all cases of superficial irritation, first recom
mended it to the attention of the people. This was all that the
inventor desired. Every bottle advertised itseli. The effects < ;
the fluid exceeded expectation. It acted like a cluirm. Tin
ladies would not be without it. Country dealears in every sec

was built up a wholesale trade of an extent hitherto unheard of
