GEORGIA—Marion County;
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN .—This is to
give due and legal notice that on or about the day
of— 1851, that under and by virtue of the act (of September
28. 1850. entitled An act tranting bounty land to certain
officers and soldiers who have been engaged in military
service ol the United States )of the Congress of the United
States of America, a land warrant to wft. No. 11,327, for
eighty (80) acres of land, was issued by the Commission
er of Pensions to Micajah Baggett, of the county and State
aforesaid; also, by virtue of the same authority, and about
the day of— 1852, land warrant No 55,415, for fortv acres,
was issued hy the Commissioner nl Pensions to Zoro B
Bell of said countv and State—That said Micajah Bag
gett and the said Z“ro <. Bell, respectively, for a valuable
considerati m to each of them by me paid, assigned and
transferred to me, tin blank) according to the statute in
such cases made and provided, their said land warrants
above described, respective’y, (the said assignment and
transfer being written in blank on the back ot each ot said
original land warrants in due form of law, and dated the
day of 1854, and signed by the said Micajah and
the said Zoro B. respectively.) That afterwards, to wit:
on or about the day of 1855, said land warrants
were mailed in the city of Columbus in said State, to Cat
lio, Levitt Cos., at “the city of New York, (N Y.,) and
the same having been so mailed as aforesaid, were lost or
miscarried, so thatthey never reached said Catlin, Levitt &.
Cos. at the city of New York as aforesaid, by due course
of mail or otherwise; that said laDd warrant* as before de
scribed, nor either ol them, are in my power, ustody, or
control, but that the same have been lost in manner afore
said; That it is my intention to apply to the Commissioner
of Pensions for a duplicate of each of said land warrants,
according to the statute in each cases made and provided.

WE the undersigned, inventors ol the Iron Screw Pres
take pleasure iu calling attention to this Press, for
which we have obtained Letters Patent. From experience
we are sat sfied that this Press is not only capable ot pres#,
ingcotton to the usual size, but with asmall additional cost
of compression at the Gin to a size suitable for shipment by
sea going vessels. The cost now for compressing is from
70 to 90 cents per bale, which indirectly comes out of the
planter. This Press is durable, as all of its beating and
straining parts are of and suitable for negro
management. We ate making arrangements to put up the
