We nrefeni as a grievance of an enormous nature, that the fpirit of fpe-’ubtion is fo ron fpiruous in our ecu 1 tv, as we f fP combinations of influential citizens diflurbing the quiet of their neighbours, bv re-Curvev jng their lands, and thereby at tempting to defraud the flute of immenfc fums of money which mufl: eventually fall on the citi zens, if they are fuccefsful by w?y of taxes, to reimburfe indi viduals to whom the flaie hath guaranteed real property fo: its real value, to defray debts con tra&ed in the late revolution. — We therefore recommend to the next leg flaturr to put a flop to fuch unwarrantable pia&ices We perceive with great plea fure, the many advantages that rrmft refultto rhe (late, by open ing the road contemplated in his honor's charge, and whdft we return him thanks for his exertions in purfuit of fo great an acquiGtion, take the liberty of recommending to the legifla ture, at their next fefGon, to make fuch further provifion as in their wifdotn may be deemed necefl jry for the fad completion of fo valuable a deGgn. We recommend fo the legif lature to amend the road law; alfo to pafs a law authoring the Inferior Court of this coun ty, to lay a tax on the citizens thereof, for the purpofe of build ing a budge over Little River, at or near Dennis's old mill.
