Amiens of 80,000 men, and
continually reinforced.

not opened on the 13th October,
but expected to be hourly.
Carnot and Jofeph Buona
parte, were to be the negociators
at Luneville, the former having
refigned the war minidry to
Bcrthier for the purpofe.
M. De Dhom was to be the
Prudlan minifterat 1 uneville.
Count Cobemell the Andrian.
Baron Thugot, the Audrian
prime mi'nifter devoted to Eng
land, had been difmilied and dic
ceeded by Count Lehrbah.
Naval equipments were mak
ing in all the ports of the two
republics in the North Sea and
the F Inglidi channel, under the
direction of the Marquis Du
crcd, a celebrated Engineer,
vho had redded as a rnyaiifl in
England for feveral years, and
had been recently ordered from
thence under the Allen law.
