taken from a Paris Paper.

A curious occurnfncjg lately
took place in the neighbour
hood of Lyons ;—A dancing
hear and his mafter went fome
time ago to a farmer’s houl£, not
lar from the city ot Lyons, in
S uc ft °l a night’s lodging-; it
was not very’ natural that fuch
gtivlts fhouid meet with a very
welcome reception ; but it was '
rather late, the weather abomi
nable, and no other afylum
near at iiand. ic happened that
the farmer was next day to go
to town to IciJ fome cattle, and
with that intention had put thir
ty fheep into a feparate liable,
h:s humanity, however, induced
h.m to turn out his poor fheep,
in order to give a fit accommo
dat >n to his bcarifh majefty ;
af w iich, he took home the j
mown mi to iieep at 1A own !
houle. midnight every
one was awakened, and alarmed
i by the moft dreadful bowlings
and lamentations; when upon
enquiry, it appeared that two
thieves, who got informed of
the farmer’s intentions, but v/ho
were ignorant of the event of
the evening, came to his ftables
to carry away the fheep; dittlc
.thinking of the kind of jfcccp
wjn that awaited them. On
ftables, one of
*.Wm was torn in pieces by the
bear; and the other ftrugp-ling- in

A CAUTION.
{pr FREDERICK PEEL
AR, and JAMES BOON, hav
ing illegally detained (among
other property) a quantity of
medicine of mine, and as the
villains, who will unlawfully and
unjuftly’takc another man's pro
perty, will no doubt, from the
*ne motives which induced 1
them to take it, make the bed
of it they can, it is probable
the laid Frederick Peelar and
James Boon, may attempt to
irhpofc on the ignorance of
fome people, by perfuading
them to buy and ufe it, and as
the bottles and pots are chiefly
without labels, it is beyond the
reach of their (kill, (great as
it is) to know what is in them;
I therefore, from a principle of
duty to my fellow citizens,
hereby caution them nor to ufe
any part of laid medicine, as a’
very fmall augmentation of the
proper dole of fome of'the arti
cles might be attended' with
very ferious if not fatal confe
qucnces.
