vided always. That the three
foregoing proportions herein
offered, are on the conditions
that the convention of the faid
date (hail provide, by an ordi
nance irrevocable, without the
content of the United States,
that every and each trafl of land
fold by Congrefs, from and after
the thirtieth day of June next,

from any tax laid by order, or

bitants of Boland are intending
to pafs into America. Tnij
emigration is under the direction
of Kofciufko and Thos. Paine,
and with the particular fupporc
of Mr. Jeheribn, President cf
the United States. They in
tend forming a fettlementon the
banks cf the Sufquehanna, in
New-York date. The number
fpoken of is 1500, probably
many of them with families.—•
This will add to the value of
that part of the country, as it
is but thinly fettled.’'
The following is an ex Iraki cf a
letter from a gentleman at New
Orleans , to Us friend in Fhi~
ladelphia, dated June 22 :
“ A courier has juft arrived
from Spain with dlfpatches for
the Governor, which do not
mention one word of this pro
vince being given up to France.
The difpatches are as late as the
beginning of April. Private
letters juft received from the
I I?vanUah Hate, that this coun
try had been given to the r rench,
but returned, on condition that
the Spaniards would pay the
French five millions of money,
five fliips of the line, and re
pairs for twenty more. Thefb
letters fpeak confidently of this
being correct. If it be, we
fhcdl have reafon to congratulate
ourfelves on the event.”
Late accounts Hate, that the
Hory of the attempt on Buona
parte’s life, is totally unfounded.
A London paper cf the 9m
of May, fays, “ The Ley or
Tripoli lately purchafed a 32
gun trigate at Smyrna, and has
manned her with yco pkked
men, for the purpofe of giving
battle to the American trigate
Philadelphia, which has for a
loma; lime blockaded the poA
