measles, but we are glad to learn they

stock farm near Warthens in Wash
ington county. He gave ks a call last
week.
The Aid Soeioty cleared twenty
dollars, and their splendid supper
will recommend them hereafter when
they give another entertainment.
How did the public schools open up
throughout the county ?
The grand jury called upon the
county board to reduce the county
taxes, as the treasury was very well
supplied; and now in the name of the
citizens of Louisville, we ask the coun
cil to economize, and try to reduce
our town taxes.
Two nice stoves have been put in
the Presbyterian church, and the
breaks in the plastering mended.

the Methodist church every Wednes
day night.

EXCITEMENT IN TEXAS.
Great excitement has been caused
in the vicinity of Paris. Tex., by the
remarkable recovery of Mr. E. J. Cor
ley, who was so helpless he could not
turn in bed, or raise his head; every
body said he was dying of Consmnp
