Saturday Kinney Loach was shot
by Alec Modosett, and died in a few
minutes. They were at a societ\

During the winter of 1897 Mr. Jam s
Reed, one of the leading citizens an

Va., struck his leg against a cake of
ice in such a manner as to bruise it fi

Mrs Gertrude McKenzie, wife of
Mr. A. G. McKenzie. She was born
the 9th day ot May, 1873. She hat
been in bad health for several
years, and suffered greatly all the
time. For some time before her
death ahe was helpless and uncon

She leaves a husband, a little girl,
a father and a sister to mourn her
death, fhe afflicted tarn iy has the
sympathy of their many friends.
The remains were brought from
Dublin and interred in the Lotus
