ence which was held here Wednesday
were most thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Dr. Anthony’s sermon of Wednesday
morning was indeed an insj iration. A
sumptuous dinner was served at the
noon hour at the church. Delicious
barbecue was furnished bv Mr. Jas. W.
Aldrcd, which added to the dinner.
The many friends of Alls. 8. Davis
will regret to hear of her serious ac
cident of several days ago. She had a
severe fall, which broke her arm.
Aliss Jewel Mayo, who has been at
school in North Carolina is at home,
as the school has suspended on account
of flu.
Mr. and Airs. Floyd Rivers of Grange
were visitors here Friday.
Mrs. E. A. Arnold, Miss Sara Ar
nold and Airs. Fred Arnold were the
guests of Airs. Arnold’s mother, Airs. J.
T. Amerson, near Downs, Saturday. She
accompanied them home.
On Thursday night the fire alarm
was sounded and Mr. Jno. L. Move’s
house' was discovered to be afire, but
the flames were soon extinguished, but
not before the contents of one room
were badly damaged.
Mr. and Airs. Bennie Warthen of Bar
tow were the guestss of Dr. and Airs.
W. B. Warthen Sunday.
The Missionary program which was
rendered by the Sunday School of the
Baptist church Sunday afternoon was
indeed a fine one. The pieces given by
the different classes were well render
ed, showing the efficient training they
had been given.

Aloates had a real serious automobile
accident Monday morning. Their car
struck a sand bar on the Hall’s Cross,
roads and overturned. Both of them
escaped with slight injuries.
