Editor Geld- Bjrs is a great believer in good roads and is devoting a great edeal of time to the cause of “better highways” for Georgia ol md the South. Mr. Gelders expresses satisfaction with the being made in the promotion of the Jefferson Davis te lighway, one of whose links will pass through the exact ter pritory traveled by Mr. Davis and his party when making their •Avay through Georgia in 1865, and passes the historic Irwin ”lille, where the federal cavalry overtook Mr. Davis. The division of the route crosses the Ocmulgee at Ab teieville, and goes via Eastman, Dublin, Wrightsville, Bar tow and Louisville to Augusta, and on through the Carolinas to Richmond. The Montgomery-Savannah division of the highway passes through the cities of Macon, Alamo, Mt. Vernon, Vidalia, Lyons, Reidsville, Claxton and Pembroke to pSavannah. Be sure and— _ _ DROWNS WHEN CAR PLUNGES Gadsden, Ala, Sept. 25. —Lee Self, 20 of Lafayette, Ga, was drowned and Foy Self, another youth of the same place is thought to have been with him and to have lost his life when an automobile plunged off the Leesburg ferry into the Coosa river last night. The body of Lee Self was recovered about 75 yards below the scene of the accident this morn ing and was removed to an under taking establishment at Centre. The car was removed from the stream.
