LIVER PILLS,

Hepatitis or Liver Complaint,
DYSPEPSIA AND SICK. HEADACHE.
Symptoms of a Diseased Liver.
PAIN in the right side, under the edge of
the ribs, increase, on pressure; sometimes
the pain is in the left side; the patient is
rarely able to lie on the left side; sometimes
the pain is felt under the shoulder blade,
and it frequently extends to the top of the
shoulder, and is sometimes mistaken for a
rheumatism in the arm. The stomach is
affected with loss of appetite and sickness,
the bowels in general are costive, sometimes
alternative with lax; the head is troubled
with pain, accompanied with a dull, heavy
sensation in the back part. There is gene
rally a considerable loss of memory, accom
panied with a painful sensation of having
left undone something which ought to have
been done. A slight, dry cough is some
times an attendant. The patient complains
of weariness and debility; he is easily startled,
his feet are cold or burning, and he com
plains of a prickly sensation of the skin;
his spirits are low; and although he is satis
fied that exercise would be beneficial to him,
yet he can scarcely summon up fortitude
enough to try it. In fact, he distrusts every
remedy. Several of the above symptoms
attend the disease, but cases have occurred
where few of them existed, yet examination
of the body, after death, has shown the
liver to have been extensively deranged. -
AGUE AND FEVER.
Dr. M’Lane’s Liver Pills, in cases ok

HOSTETTER’S
STOMAGHJBTTERS.
The proprietors and manufacturers of HOS
TETTER’S CELEBRATED STOMACH BIT
TERS can appeal with perfect confidence to
physicians and citizens generally of the United
States, because the article has attained a repu
tation heretofore unknown. A few facts upon
this point will speak more powerfully than
volumes of bare assertion »r blazoning puffery.
The consumption of Hostetter’s Stomach Bit
ters for the last year amounted to over a half
million bottles, and from its manifest steady
increase in times past, it is evident that, during
the coming year the consumption will reach
near one million bottles. This immense amount
could never have been sold but for the rare
medicinal properties contained in the prepara
tion, and the sanction of the most prominent
physicians in those sections of the country
where the article is best known, who not only
recommend the Bitters to their patients, but
are ready at all times to give testimonials to its
efficacy in all cases of stomachic derangements
and the diseases resulting therefrom.
This is not a temporary popularity, obtained
by extraordinary efforts in the way of trum
peting the qualities of the Bitters, but a solid
estimation of an invaluable medicine, which is
destined to be as enduring as time itself.
Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters have proved
a Godsend to regions where fever and ague
and various other bilious complaints have
counted their victims by hundreds. To be
able to state confidently that the “Bitters”
arc a certain cure for the Dyspepsia and like
diseases, is to the proprietors a source of un
alloyed pleasure. It removes all morbid matter
from the stomach, purifies the blood, and
imparts renewed vitality to the nervous system,
giving it that tone and energy indispensable
for the restoration of health. It operates upon
the stomach, liver, and other digestive organs,
mildly but powerfully, and soon restores them
to a condition essential to the healthy discharge «
of the functions of nature.
Elderly persons may use the Bitters daily as
per directions on the bottle, and they will find
in it a stimulant peculiarly adapted to comfort
declining years, as it is pleasant to the palate,
invigorating to the bowels, excellent as a tonic,
and rejuvenating generally. We have the evi
dence of thousands of aged men and women
who have experienced the benefit of using this
preparation while suffering from stomach de
rangements and general debility; acting under
the advice of physicians, they have abandoned
all deleterious drugs and fairly tested the
merits of this article. A few words to the
gentler sex. There are certain periods when
their cares are so harassing that many of them
sink under the trial. The relation of mother
and child is so absorbingly tender, that the
mother, especially if she be young, is apt to
forget her own health in her extreme anxiety
for her infant. Should the period of maternity
arrive during the summer season, the wear of
body and mind is generally aggravated. Here,
then, is a necessity for a stimulant to recupe
rate the energies of the system, and enable the
mother to bear up under her exhausting trials
and responsibilities. Nursing mothers gene
rally prefer the Bitters to all other invigora
tors that receive the endorsement of physi
cians, because it is agreeable to the taste as
well as certain to give a permanent increase
of bodily strength.
All those persons, to whom we have particu
larly referred above, to wit: sufferers from
fever and ague, caused by malaria, diarrhoea,
dysentery, indigestion, loss of appetite, and
all diseases or derangements of the stomach,
superannuated invalids, persons of sedentary
occupation, and nursing mothers, will consult
their own physical welfare by giving to Hos
tetter’s Celebrated Stomach Bitters a trial.
CAUTION.—We caution the public against
using any of the many imitations or counter
feits, but ask for Hostetter’s Celebrated
Stomach Bitters, and see that each bottle has
the words “Dr. J. Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters”
blown on the side of the bottle, and stamped
on the metallic cap covering the cork, and
observe that our autograph signature is on the
label.

DR. LITTLE’S
VERMIFUGE.
In LARGE Bottles and Vials.
Nothing else is required to relieve children of
Worms ; and besides being one of the cheapest and
best Vermifuges ever offered to the public. Its fre
quent use in families will save much trouble and
expense, as well as the lives of many children—for
eight out of every ten cases generally require it.
A CARD.
DR. J. B. GORMAN having extensively used LIT
TLE’S VERMIFUGE, takes pleasure in saying it
is the most valuable remedy to cure children of
WORMS he ever knew. A dollar bottle is quits
sufficient for 25 cases. .

MTTDE’S
ANODYNE COUGH DROPS.
3 certain cure for Colds, Coughs, Bronchitis.
Asthma, Pain in the Breast; also Croup,
Whooping Coughs, <S-c., <fc.,
amongst Children.
This is a pleasant medicine to take, producing im
mediate relief, and in nine out of ten cases a prompt
enre. It exercises the most controlling influence
over Coughs and Irritation of the Lungs of any re
medy known, often stopping the most violent in a
few hours, or at most in a day or two. Many cases
thought to be decidedly consumptive, have been
promptly cured by using a few bottles. As anodyne
expectorant, without astringing the bowels, it stands,
paramount to all cough mixtures.
LITTLE’S
FRENCH MIXTURE.
This is prepared from a French Recipe (in the
forms of No. 1 and 2; the first for the acute, and
No. 2 for the chronic stage,) and from its unexampled
success is likely to supersede every other remedy
for the cure of diseases of the Kidneys and Bladder,
Gonorrhoeal, Blennorrhoeal, and Leuchorrhoeal or
Fluor Albus affections. This extensive compound
combines properties totally different in taste and.
character from any thing to be found in the United
States Pharmacopccia; and in point of safety and effl
ciency is not rivalled in America.
LITTLE’S
RINGWORM & TETTER OINTMENT.
FORTIS, No. a.
Hundreds of cases of Chronic Tetters, Scald IleadsL
and diseases of the skin generally, have been cured
by this remedy ; and since the introduction of the
No. 2 preparation (being stronger) scarcely a case
has been found that it will not effectually eradicate
in a short time. For the cure of Cancerous Sores
and Ulcers it is applied in the form of plasters, andi
is almost infallible.
In more than two hundred places in Georgia, and
In the Southern States, they are to be had ; and as.
there are scamps about who are counterfeiting hie
remedies, by palming off their own or something
else, by using the same or similar names (for no pa
tent is wanted or secured amid the absurd patents of
the day,) let all be cautioned to look well for the,
