Rain at bast.
Last Sunday night and Monday
tlds section was visited by a real snak
ing rain, which was beginning to be
very much needed by our farmers,
many of whom had ■ ■
whilst others were wailing fm- an
earth-moistening shower. The sky is
now clear and we are in the midst of
quite an unexpected “cold snap,” with
a strong wind from the northwest.
The earth is in excellent condition for
corn planting, however, and we trust
that our farmers will put in a heavy
crop of this all-important commodity.
