READ AND BE CONVINCED. Ciias. RoniNsoN, Esq j Enaton, Md., in a letter to Dr. Jackson, Jan. 9, 1850, said— “ My wife and myself have received more bene fit from your medicine than any other we have ev or taken for the HTUyspepsia and Liver disease.” •* Tub Tenth Legion, n published at Woodstock, Vo., Jun. 10,1850, said— “A GREAT MEDICINE.” “ We havo uniformly refrained from recommend' ing to tho public or.y of the various Patent Medi cines of the day, unless thoroughly convinced ol their vnlue. Among those we consider worthy nt nolico is tho German Bitters, invented by Dr. IIuopland, and prepared by Dr. Jackson in Phila delphia. Ono instance in particular, in which the superior virtues ol this medicine have been tested, has fallen under our observation. During the last summer, a son of Mr. Abraham (’rabiil rf of this coun ty, was very seriously nflhcted with Liver Complaint nnd after trying in vain various remedies, ho pur< chased a bottle of the Ritters, and after using it, was so much relieved of his distressing malady, that he procured another bottle, and it restored him en tirely to health." READ FURTHER A FEW FACTS. Judob M. M. Noah, a gentleman with groat sci entific and literary attainments, said in hia •• New York Weekly Messenger," January fi, 1650. *' Hr. Uoofi.and's German Bitters.—Here i preparation which tho leading presses in the Union appear to be unanimous in recommending, and the reason is obvious. It is made alter a prescription furnished by one of the moat celebrated physicians ol modern tirnon, tho late Dr. Christopher Wilhelm M no flan d, Professor to the University of Jena, Pri vate Physician to tho King of Prussia, and one of the greatest medical writers Germany has ever pro duced. He was emphatically tho enemy of iium duo,and therefore a medicine of which lie was the inventor and endoraor may be .confidently relied gn. He specially recommended it in Liver Complaint, Dyspepsia, Debility .Virtieo, Acidity of the Stom ach, Constipation, and nil complaints timing from a disordered condition of the stomach, the liver and the intestines. Nine Philadelphia papers express their conviction of its excellence, and several ot’the editors now r ponk of its effects from thoir individual experience. Under these circumstances, we feel waranted, not only in calling the nttoution of our readers to the present proprietor’s (Dr. C. M. Jack- son’s) preparation, but in recommending the article to all afflicted." MORE EVIDENCE. The “Philadelphia Saturday Gazette," the best fumily newspaper published in tho United Stales, the editor says of DR. HOOFLAND’S GERMAN BITTERS. ” It is soldom that wo recommend what nre term- cd Patent Medicines to the confidence and patron age of our readers; nnd, therefore, when wc recom mend Dr. Iloofland’s German Bitters, we wish it to bo distinctly understood that we are not speaking of the nostrums of the day, that are noised about for a brief poriod and thou forgotten after they have done their guilty race ol mischief, but of a modi* cine long established^ universally prized, and which hae mot the hearty approval of the Fuculty itself. Evidence upon evidence has been received (liko the foregoing) from all sections of tho Union, in three yoars r and the strongest testimony in its favor is, thotthoro is more of it used in the prnctiee of the regular Physicians of Philadelphia than ull other nostrums combined, a fact that .can easily be esta blished, and fully proving that a scientific prepara tion will meet with their quiet approval when pre sented even in this form. This medicine will cure Liver Complaint and Dis- pepsia no one can doubt, after using it as directed. It acts specifically upon the Biamoch and Itver-—it is preferable to calomel in all billtous diseases—the effect is immediate. They can bs administered to female or infant with safety and reliable benefit, at any time. HEALTH RESTORED! BOTANIC INFIRMARY. rpiIE increasing popularity of the reformed Botan- -L ic Practice of Medicine, and tho continued ap plication of patients for medical treatment, ns well ns prescriptions nnd medicine to distant pntients, has induced the Propveitor to make more extensive arrungeinents for the better nnd more comfortable accommodation of tho afflicted, where every vnrio* I ty of disenso will bo treated upon the most scien tific physiological principles. The reformed Prac tice Is becoming to be too well known and too bigh- I iy appreciated throughout our country, to require euloglutn or panegyric in this place. It needs not the aid of declamation to foster, to substantiate or enhance its value; it only claims for itself a fair investigation ami trial to bo duly esteemed—and certainly it cannot bo denied that. If the most vi olent opposition could have had its intended elfect, tho system would long ugo have been annihilated. From the many testimonials which Dr.lms Jones received of his uuparalleletl success, lie lms thought proper to lay the following before a reflecting com munity.
