Tho reformed Prac tice is becoming to bo too well known and too high ly appreciated throughout our country, to require uulogiuin or panegyric in this place. If tho most vi olent opposition could have had its intended effect, the system would long ago have been annihilated. From the many testimonials which Dr.lms Jones received of his unparalleled success, ho has thought proper to lay the following before a reflecting com munity. Tho Faculties, for intellectual abilities moral worth and professional acquirements, will compare favorably with tho inOBt distinguished in our coun try. The medical faculty constitutes an anomaly in this or any other country—ull of thorn arc able lec turers nnd the best of teachers. Those who will contemplate our geographical po sition, and tho extent ol our population, can have no doubt as to tho eligibility of our situation for an en terprise ol tho kind. As to health, inciuu ng nil sea sons of tho year, wo deny that any other city has more. A common error exists in the minds of many students relative to the place of studying medicine; those who intend practising among thothe diseases of tho I Vest and South, should certainly educate themselves at a school whoso Faculty ure practi cally acquainted with those diseases. That the public may be satisfied of this school, wo feci it our duty to state, that the Trustees and Faculty form a unit in action, which augurs well for its future success; and that tho peculiar inter nal organization which connects them, cannot be in* terrupted. He accordingly applied a plaster on the right side of his cheat where the pain was seated, another between tho shoulders, and one over tho region of the liver. In the meantime ho drank freely of an herb tea of laxative qualitiea.
