A Lovely Young Lady Cured of Consump

Tho following is rrom the pen of AVm. H.
Levison.Esq., the distinguished editor of the
U. £• Military and Naval Argus, under date of
New York, January 26,1850. What could be
more conclusive 1
" It is seldom we permit ourselves to occu
py n space in these columns to speak in prafep
ol'nny article in the patent medicine way; but
when we see the life of a fellow creature saved
by the use of any medicine whatever, we con
sider it 08 our right, if no: our duty, to give a
simple statement of facts that others may in
like manner, be benefitted. The ease which
has induced us to pen this article was that of
a young lady of our acquaintance* who by
frequent exposure to the night air, contracted
a Cold which settled on the Lungs, teforc its
ravages could be stayed. (This occurred two
yeot8 ago this winter.) Various remedies
were used, but wjth very, little effect or benefit-
The Cough grew worse, with copious expecll
oration, and the sunken eye, and pale, hollow
check told plainly that pulmonary disease was
doing its Worst on her delicate frame. The
family nhysicinn was consulted, and although
he would not admit to the young lady that she
really had the Consumption, yet he would give
no encouragement as to a cure. At this crisis
her mother was persuaded to make use of a
bottle of Dr. Rogers’ Compound 8y.up of Liv
erwort and Tar, nnd we are happy to state she
was perfectly cured in less than three months
by this medicine alone, after even hope was
destroyed. It Is useless to comment on such a'
case ns this, for the simple truth will reach
where nolished fiction never can. Ifany doubt
the nntnemicity of this statement, lot them cnll
