If 18 propo.,,1 to *iiip live ti»h •*»* ()«•> out,ivy to Knglaud by m ; Life «»f Capt. Joseplt Fry. This is the title of a hook now in the presses of the J. II. Burr Pub¬ lishing Co., of Hartford; and from the advance sheets sent us, we think it will he one of thrilling interest.— It will he remembered that Capt. Fry was in command of the ill latf-d Virgiyins, which was raptured by the Spanish war vessel Tornado after an exciting chase, last year, when lie and hiserew were murdered ,, y the Spaniards. Cant. Fry was an officer in the U. S. Navy. and during the late war attached to the Confederate navy, lie was a citizen of New’ Orleans, w here he left a helpless family; and this book is published for their benefit. It i< safe to say that America has produced no superior of Capt. Fry in symmetry of diameter, great in¬ tellectual ability, surmounted by the loftiest moral nature. • Capt. Fry’s biography would he a worthy text book in our schools, to teach our children how a great man¬ hood . :ty be reached, and how nobly the hero dies. But even such a hero’s life needs to be well told to enchain the reader’s attention and allure him on through its pages, delightfully and instruc¬ tively. Fortunately the materials ('apt. Fry’s history fell into the hands ofa capable and skillful writer, Mrs. Jennie Mort Walker, of New Orleans, and have been charmingly put together, under the impulse a true literary zeal, appreciative de¬ votion to her attractive subject—a gratuitous work, a labor of love, on her parr. A-a piece of simple biogra¬ phy. it has hut lew equals, and is a work which its possessor* will read over and over again. A Truly Great Medicine. Tiie Gi.ouf. Flowi:i: ( oroti Svt: I I'.
