PROPOSALS,

JAMES EWELL,
PHYSICIAN IN SAVANNAH,
For Printing, by Subscription, anew and greatly

ENTITLED,
THE PLANTER'S AND MARINER'*
Medical Companion,
ON this important fubjeQ many books
have been written, which, though
excellent in other refpetls, have yet great
ly failed of their ufefulnefs to Americans,
bccaufe they treat of diseases which, exiff.
tng in very d’.ft’ent climates and consti
tutions, mu ft widely differ from ours.—
The bock row offered to the public ha r ,
herefore, the great advantage of having
teen winten by a native American of long
nd fuccessful pratlice in these Southern
Mates, and who, for year3 past, has turned
ouch of his attention to this very inteteft
ng fubjeft. He is very fanguiae that his
rook will prove exceedingly ufeful to all
amities, but more especially to those liv.
ng in scattered neighbourhoods, where
egular medical attendance cannotcafily be
btained. For the use of families thus
mfoaunatcly circumflanced, tbe author
a* prepared his Planter's and Mariner's
. Medical Companion, which treats, in th*
nofl clear and eoncife manner, almost e-t
----ry disease to which the human body is !;
bie t with its name ,symtoms, causes, regu

hewing how to prepare the moil ufeluj

•nd a DiQionary, explaining the technical
erms used in this work. With such a

he happy inflrument of preserving lives
