Notice is hereby given, that in con formity with the proviiions of the a£i supplementary to the aid, irititled “ An act making provision for the redemp tion of the whole of the public debt of the United States,” books.will be open at the office of the commiflkmer ofloans for Georgia, on the firft day ct July next, to continue open until the seven teenth day of March, 1808, inclusive ly, the fourteen 1a ft days of teach quar ter excepted, for the purpose of re ceiving fubferiptions for such parts or the old fix pet cent, deferred fix per cent, and three per cent, flock, as may. on the day of fubfeription, Hand or; the books of the said cotnmiffioncv o! loans. Those proprietors of the old fix per cent, and deferred Rocks, who mat fubferibe, will receive in lieu thereof anew fix per cent. Hock, equal to the uniedeemed amount of the Hock sur rendered, redeemable at the plea fine of the United States, under a proviso, however, tha tno reimburferhent lhall be made except for the whole amount of any such new certificate of flock, nor till after fix months previous no tice : and the proprietors of the three per cent, flock who may fubferibe, will receive in lieu thereof, a fix per cent, flock, equal to fixty-ftve per cent. of the amount of three per cent, surrendered, redeemable in the fame manner ad the new fix per cent, above mentioned but not reimbursable, how ever, without the assent of the holders, until after the whole of the new fix percent, (given in exchange for old fix or deferred as above mentioned) as well as the whole of the eight per cent, flock of the United States, fhail have been reimbursed. It is also that in every reimburfetnent which may take place, a preference will be given to those creditors who may no tify their wish to be reimbursed ; and that if the applications to that effeft fhail at any time either exceed or fall fbort of the sum then applicable to that purpose, the priority of payment fhail, so far as may be neceflary, be determined by lot. The present Hock-holders who re fide in any part of Europe, and may aflept to that modification, may, at their option, receive the intereß ac cruing on the new Heck, either in the United States as heretofore, or in Lon don or Amsterdam, at par; in which Sail case, the interefl will be paid there : by the bankers of the United States, fix months subsequent to the day on which the fame would be payable in the United States and subject to no variation; nor to any other deduction than a commissioner to the bankers, of one half per cent, on the interefl thus paid.
