AN ORDINANCE, To amend an Ordinance , entitled an Or. dine nee,, to amend an Ordinance, entitled an Ordinance, for the purpose of establishing and organizing a regular Night Watch, for the belter prolctling the City ofSavan nah. It is ordained by the Mayor and Alder, men of the City of Savannah, in Council as sembled, that it shall be the duty nj the Su pcrintcndant, and Deputy Suptriniendant of the Right Watch, to remain in the Watch, house, alternately, from the time cf sitting the Watch, until day-light, on every night during the whole year , excepting suck time as may be necessarily employed in visiting the pat roles, to tee that they perform char duty properly, which absences shall at no one time exceed the space of one hour ; and that in case of refusal or negletl of the said Superintendent, Deputy Superintsndant of the Night Watch, to comply with the afore said regulation, he shall for every such of fence, forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding one month's pay, One half thereof to be ap plied bp the use of (he informer, and the oth er has to the use of the city.
