WHEREAS by an aa of the General Aflembly of the State of Georgia, pa{Ted at Louisville on the €th day of December, 1806, it is enafiied that all the Fraftional Parts of Surveys of Land reserved to the Pate by the” fcveral land laws making dis tribution of the lands lately acquired of the Creek Nation ol Indians, lying and being on the rivers Ocrnulgee and Oconee, and also ot\the pre fen t and former temporary boundary lines iliall be fold in separate lots, to the highest bidder, in the Town of Mil ledgeville, in the following manner, to wit : The Com mi goners to be appoint ed (who the iubferiber's are) shall, by an advertisement in the Gazettes of Pctersburgh, Walhington, (Wilkes county) Sparta, Augusta, Louisville and Savannah ; in which advertife rnent shall be particularly fpecified the day or days on which the Fra&ions in each County and in each Dillritt will be fold. Notice is hereby given, that in con formity with the provisions of the a£t supplementary to the aft, inti tied “An aft making provifum for the redemp tion of the whole of the public debt of the United States,” books will be open at theoffice of the cotr.mifiioner of loans for Georgia, On the firft day cf July next, to continue open until the seven teenth day cf March, 1808, incluGvc ly, the fourteen last days of each quar ter excepted, for the purpose of re ceiving fubferiptions for such parts of the old fix per cent, deferred fix per cent, and three percent, (lock, as may, on the day of fubfeription, Hand on the books of the laid commifiioner of loans. Those proprietors of the old fix per cent, and deferred flocks, who may fubferibe, will receive rn lieu thereof anew fix per cent, flock, equal to the untedeerried amount of the flock sur rendered, redeemable at the pleasure of the United States, under a proviso, however, tha tno reimbursement shall be made except for the whole amount of any such new certificate of stock, nor till after fix months previous no tice : and the proprietors of the three per cent, flock who may fubferibe, will receive in lieu thereof, a fix per cent, stock, equal to fixty-five per cent, of the amount of three per cent, surrendered, redeemable in the fame manner as the new fix per cent, above mentioned but not reimbursable, how ever, without the afletu of the holders, until after the whole of the new fix percent, (given in exchange for old fix or deferred as above mentioned) as well as the whole of the eight per cent, stock of the United States, {hall have been reimbursed. It is elfo provided, that in every reimbursement which may take place, a preference will be given to those creditors who may no tify their wifli to be reimbursed; and that if the applications to that effed (hall at any time either exceed or fall short of the sum then applicable to that purpose, the priority of payment {hall, so far as may be necessary, be determined by lot. The present stock-holders who re side in any part of Europe, and may aflent to that modification, may, at their option, receive the interest ac cruing on the new stock, either in the United States as heretofore, or in Lon don or Amftcrdam, at par; in which last case, the interest will be paid there by the bankers of the United States, fix months subsequent to the day on which the fame would be payable in the United States and fubjeft to no variation; nor to any other deduction than a commifiioner to the bankers, ol one half per cent, on the interest thus paid, JAMES ALGER, Commissioner of Leans.
