In consequence of the above resolves, Mr, Screven
opened a Grammar School ou Mouut-Eurn, early in
September ; but before a number of youth lro.m
different parts of the date, who were on their way to
that fsminary, could arrive he left it—Wbat led to
this meafurc, as uexpedied to the board, who had en
gaged that refjpcdtalde agent, aa mortifying to the
friend* of th* iullitution at large, will be a fufcjedt of

fcarrafling event happened, no exertion w hich could
be mad*, to contract the limit* of its injurious effedls,

fullj informed,that this fchool will RE-COMMENC3
under very flattering circumftauces, on the firft Mon
day in January. Mr. DANIEL MERCER, highly
recommended at an able and perfeverir.g teacher, is
engaged as Principal of the Grammar Schor l; and
Mr. JOEL tdILL, a gentleman of character, who is
bleffcti with an amiable family, and has a productive
flock and farm, within three miles of Mnunt-Enort, is
to keep the Boarding House. Mr. H;lt is promptly
preparing, and will have in readiness, by the firft of
next month, genteel accommodations, ant on’y for
pupils, but for ladies and gentlemen who may occa
sionally viflt Mount Enon. Should it be inconve
nient for p areata to fend lodging nr bedding with
iheir children to this place, Mr. Hill will furnifh that
article at a reafonab'e rate. May the enlightened
friends of this eftabhfhmcnt, which has elerived its
being fra.n their liberality, meet their reward, in
feeing it rife under their foflering hands, and the ap
proving fmilesof Providence, into the highest liter*.
