ed, that one flip, three brigs, three fch’rs end a
sloop, were wrecked on the back of the Cane,
One of the brigs belonged to Salem, from Mara
esbo, one man loft, vessel loft and cargo, (cofiee
and cocoa,) saved. One of the fth’l3 belonged
to MarbLheM, a fifiicrman from the banks,
which cverftt and every perfen belonging to her
perilhed. One other of the brigs was from
Ruflia, and loft nine people. The fch’r Rif-eg
Sun, Hallet, from Boil on for New-Ycrk, and a
f.h’r from Button to Providence, both belong
ing to Barnftable, went on fiiore in Cape Har
her, not much damaged; and four other vessels.
• Same day—Sch r Linnet, Collins, Halifax, 9
days. A (hip from Loudon, at Halifax, fell in
with a Ihip with ‘ Hope of IViseassetf on her
stern, a wreck, with only one mail ftm.dir.g,
loaded with lumber, noperfon on boa. and, a little

“ Yesterday we had a moft dii’uefiing gale of
wind from N. N. E. attended with fuow, fleet
and rain. The ffoop Experience, M'Kean, of
Iflelborough, went on (here cn the back of the
Cape, crew favtd, vessel and part of her cargo
(lumber) loft ; fold Freedom, of JVfaibk head,
from the Grand Banks, went on (here about
fcwo miles to the eaftwarid of Point, the
<rew all periihed ; three of the bodies have
Slice been found. Brig Dispatch, Upton, of
Salem, went on Chore about; two miles to the
eastward of the Light-hbufe, left the cook, a
black man ; cargo will mostly be iaved, vessel
probably Iqft. A brig went on Chore about
four miles S. E. of the Liglit-houfe, and went
to pieces, two men saved- report fays (he was
loaded with duck and iron. Brig Nancy, Hew
it, Ncw-York, is on Lore in Cape Harbor.

Capt. Profs, of the British brig Ann, left at
Bermuda, the barque Mary, Clarke, from New-
York to Jamaica, had been on the rocks, had re
paired and was to tail in 5 days.
The (hip Clyde, from Cha.iefton, which went
ashore in the late gale on the Eafl Bank, and
fchh* Refolntion", hem Savannah, are both high
and dry ; their cargcfes are saved, and have been
irloftly brought up in lighters.
4 Schooner Enterprise, Patton, from Turks-
Jftiud, with fait, went ashore on Sunday night,
on the outer point of- the hook and bilged.—

The Thooner Ruby, Murray of and from Charles
ton to foutli tide of Cuba, was ift on the nth of Octo
ber on the north end of Great Hcneara, crew and part
of the cargo saved. The boat was dilpatched to Cu
