whose bravery repelled the savage and the ci
vilized foe, botli by sea and bnu ; whose un
daunted valour and heroism was never excel
led in the proudest day* ot the ancient repub
lics. Tu the junior officer* of the winy and
navy, this bonk will pi uve an excellent manual
and model for imitation.
It is presumed the head of each family in the
country will be gr.itifii diu possessing a copy of
th s work, m-1 merely us a book of reference,
but a source of pleasure for recitation to their

It is required that each application be accom
panied by a respectable testimonial of the good
character of the applicant, and of Ins being in
such restricted circumstances as entitle him to
the benefit of this foundation. It must also ap
pear that he has attained the age of eighteen
years, is possessed of sufficient literary acquire

man Lutheran Church at Ebenezer, stating
that the said John Freycrmuth on the fifteenth
day of April, eighteen hundred U fifteen, mort-
S aged by deed under seal to the petitioners, all
lose tracts of land, containing three hundred
acres in Effingham county, state aforesaid, on «
small creek adjoining Judidixh Weitman Kelly’s
and Garrison’s landj also another fifty acres, sit
uated snd being in the district of Ebcneser,
bounded by land of Peter Arnetoff & F. Brook-
tiers, at the time of survey granted to Landfel-
det-, also,another tract of land situate in the aev.
