This disaster had produced an extraordinary sensational Constantinople, and raised the fury of the troops to the highest pitch. In the British Parliament little business of public interest lias been transacted. 4’1'lie Canada trade bill lud passed the House id Commons; and it was under stood, a prorogation would alinnst tinme- # diately take place of both Houses, The ’ King shortly alter this was to proceed on his tuur to Scotland, accompanied by his hrothke the Duke of Yoik. The Edin burgh papers are filled with acWtints of the preparations making lor the reception of his Majesty, who is to reside princi pally in Puccleugh House, at Dalkeith, six miles from the Scottish capital. A grand banquet was preparing, to bo giv- eu in iho Parliament House at Edinburgh, to tile King; and congratulations and ad dresses were getting up by all the incur | poi nted bodies in Scotlund, to be laid at the feet of royally. The funds collected for tho starving Iiish were oxnauated, without any apuear- ance of a relaxation hf their tniseiics. Famine and , (liaease continued to make terrible ravages. Captain Dobsony of the Arab, recently arrived in (his port from Smyrna, has brought with him a Greek buy, about ten, years of ago, whom he purchased for eleven shillings. The youth was sold at the common bazaar, Hogelhcr with his mothw, brothers, nnd sisters ; his father haviiflf been previously killed. The Arab lies in tho Kings Duck, at the bottom of Sparling-street.—We entertain hopes that this poor boy will become an object of interest with the Li verpuol public ; and should be much gra- lifted if this notice should be tho means of b,'tiering his condition. It is expected that the King will pro rogue Parliament in person, on Tuesday next. On Thursday, it is understood, his Majesty contemplates leaving Town, on his visit to Scotland. His Majesty it is now expected, will embark on board a steam vessel, somewhere about Tilbury Fort, where several steam vessels will he stationed to receive the King’s suite. Those vessels will then proceed tu tho Norc, to (join the vessels now riding oft that station, awaiting his Majesty’s ar- rival. The scene presented by this royal aquatic excursion will be peculiar, and novel, on acc-unt of the number of steam i vessels that will be among llicfleet i inure ' Cij ttioso vessels, it is culcumtk'fi, than have yet been seen collected at one point, and engaged in the same voyage.—Great pro paratiuns arc making tor the gratification ,k»>f Royally iu Edinburgh and its neigh bourhood. A letter from St. Petersburg!] of the 10th July, gives as frightful accounts of the deplorable state uf the Russian pea Panfry, as the letters from Ireland contain ot the wretched Bufferings uf that popula tion. The farmers can get no buyers for their produce, atul the people are perish ing with hunger. The Nobles, so fur from reaping benefit from their possessions, find themselves obliged to purchase food for their slaves. There is plenty nT food but the great mass of consumers have no 'money. At Odessa wheat brought from ' the interior of Poland nnd IWssia, is worth Do more than fifteen shillings a quarter, and other descriptions of grain are low in proportion. The great bulk of his Im perial Majesty’s subjects are labouring tinder the deepest distress. IVeymauth, July 31.—A large Freneh brig, lutely employed in the vile traffic of slaves, is arrived in our Roads, prize, to the lphegenia frigate, Sir Robert Mends, commanding on Uie coast of Africa. A achuoner prize is also hourly expected. SPAIN. Loniot July 31.—it appears, by the latest intelligence from Madrid, that so Completely was tranquility restored, and even social confidence re-established, and s.i satisfactory was the state of the capital Considered, that on the 17th, the National Militia, who had been encamped in the- square of tha constitution from the 1st inst- to that date, broke up and retired to now knows tho indestructible support' which which it possesses in your arms and valour. Long live tho Nation—live the Constitution, and the Cuusiiiutiunai King !” ,Madrid, July 17.—The artillery which the mutiny ot thu Guards had rendered necessary to he brought out, was also taken back to the Park ; and the men necessary to do the duty of the Garrison, were afl that remained under arms) After the re hellion of the Royal Guards, it wss na tural to expect that a vigilant, if not a suspicious eye should be directed for some time to the Palace. Accordingly we find a very singular but perhaps a necessary order promulgated by the Marquis of Santa Cruz, the Major Domo, command iug the chiefs of the palace, under the res ponsibility of their office,^to limit the services of their subalterns to Inc Oeform- unco of their stated duties, to prevent^,,, sute Legislature at the election next n Abusing their right of access to I Person, by whispering political them from the lfuyul Suggestions in the Royal ear Whichjnay compromise his Majesty’s well being, a'nd to leave to the Secretaries uf State ami other public functionaries, .rthe task ol treating with his Majesty on political to' pics. Vhose who disobey this older will out onlydio deprived nf their employments but be removed from the Household. Thu militia uf Aranjuez, actuated by the same jealousy of evil cotiscllors, addressed an etiergeRc representation to the King on the ldin, requesting him (o dismiss from his household the ciibmies of the Cunstitu lional system. This representation was transmitted, through the Secretary of State for the Home .Department, tu tho Major Demo ol the Palace, wl./i was commanded tu give effect to its recommendations. On the 18ih inst. a GozcUg Extraordi nary was published at Madrid; tfinuifncing the defeat of Hie Royal CarbinWrs of Cor dova, who, like thy Guards had revolted, The number of men taken, amounts to 45fO, of horses 300. FRANCE. Wc have received some French papers of Sunday, in addition to those from which we gave extracts yesterday. In the Chamber nf Deputies, M. B. Constant moved a reduction of £.000,000 in the secret explnces uf the Police of Paris, Snu the Departments, on the ground that the Police neglected some of their duties and violated ethers. ALGIERS. Extract of a lettex from Algiers of June 14.—A dispute has broken out be tween this regency and Spain, which wil probably soon lead toseriousconsequences and to direct hostilities. This Regency, when it was in want of money commonly applied to Spain, and, since tho peach of 1785 it has continued under some pretext or other to draw from Spain a part of the money received from Mexico and Peru Matters went on in this way, and the tie mauds nf the Barbury government cost the Spanish treasury perhaps 24,000 ur 30,000 piastres per utinutn on an average. Spain has at length become weary of these im portunities, the Dry or Algiers having no- come exorbitant in his demands, and has retpdWd^l,300,000 piastres, for a claim which formerly hnd been settled with 82,000. " As no more register ships come to Cadiz the Cortes entered into serious ne- gocialion with this government. The ultimatum was rejected in March, pre sented again, supported byo-a squadron, and a threat added, that in case it were net accepted in three days, the Spanish Consul sliuuld leave Algiers. Things re mained as before; but tho Consul fuunfij means to embark. On the other hand thff Chaplain of the Legation and the ser vants of the Consul were nut permitted to depart though war was openly declar ed. The Spanish squadron is gone to Mahon, where, as we hear I8gunhoats are ready ; we tlirreforn expect a bom bardment, with which the inhabitants are the less satisfied aa the greater part of the garrisons|o( the forts are gone on board the corsairs that have sailed. “The plague,, which has raged here since the mouth of April, spreads daily. Tho deaths are numerous, and many of the inhabitants endeavour to avoid Iho con iine by flight'. The Bey of Cpostan- nnple plundered, murdered and confiscat ed, iu order to levy thy usual tribute, of which, however, onjy tho hall had arrived here on the Cth install!. He now expe rienced the same fate that he hail inflicted on others. Ha was stripped of all he pos sessed, arid banished to the interior of the country.” ^ GREECE AND TURKEY. ” The French papers of Wednesday con tain an article, dated Constantinople 26th ult. givin- an account of thp death of the Captain Pacha, that chief actor in the /ate tragedy at Scio. “ Divine veogeance begins to be displayed, and the cause of humanity has found avengers. The Cap tain Pacha, that ferocious Musselman, who pfunged all the inhabitants of Scio into the abyss of calamity, no longer ex ists. The Greeks have pisplayed a cou rage and boldness the result of which will resound through all Europe. On tire 22d of June, the age of me feast of Bafram, three Greek vessels, eharnd will) com- buitibles, passed the Turkish fleet, end under cover nf the friendly Hag which they had Imisted, approached the ship of the Admiral. The Turki occupied with preparations fnr their leaat, paid little at- tention In the fire-ships, and the Greeks had thus time (o throw Ihrlr lusees on the Admiral’s ship, which suun was in flames, Disorder immediately ipreatl among the crew, and Ach mail toaave himself from tho conflagration, Tho Captain Pecha, half burnt, was transported ttwthe blood stained shores of the Isle of Brio, which lie had atrociously laid waste, where, after half an hour of torment, I- expired. Three Turkish vessels were much damag ed, and the rest of the fleet dispersed in different djractions, dreading an attack Irtfin the Greek fire ships. The intnlli genre is confirmed by loiters received at Lloyd's. Lnmlnn, July 29—Advices have been received Irorn Grinstanliffoplo, which as sert that an important victory had been obtained by (lie Turks, under the com round nf the Pacliu of Bagdad, over the Persian troops, n short distance from Bag, dad. The victory is said to have bero complete, the Persian Wiring obliged to retire, with the loss of 4001) men killed und 700 prisoners. The Princo of Per sia was at Erzenmi. A strong fortress bail been re taken hy the Turkish troojis. This news must be received with sumc hesitation. A VERY luperlor Sleitfe Saw Mill \m been recently ercctqd in the vicinity of the C\T\ 0¥ DAIUEN, as the most eligible situation for a busineik of the kind on the Atlantic sltorei; uf the United State*. Possessing all the advantages of an in exhaustible supply of the finest yellow nitcU Pine and Cypress Timber, built on a fine filuffl with thirteen feet water close to it, and a natural cove for the reception of Jogs. „ Tlie present owners not havtng it in their power to bestow that attention to it which a concern of such magnitude requires, arc chair- qOiis of selling Mwhole, or a part of their inter est in It, and tisw offer it for tale at a very low valuation, and mu^fi less than such a structure could be completed for. , There has juat been added to its very jupp- rior Ilice Pounding Machine, capable or dis- charging at least 50 tierces of Clean rice per day 1 ana X Corn-Mill, all lot in motion by tho same engine. The Saw-Mill is upon a new principle, hy the late renowned Civil Engineer, Mr. REN NIE of Ijonflfcw, who sent out one of his host workmen to superintend its erection. It enn now cut with 48 saws, snd may Ife made to drive twice that number. The Strain Engine is perhaps the best in the United States, made by Messrs. BOLTON U WATT, of Soho, near Birmingham i and errclcd under tlie inspection oftheir best fore man, sent out expressly for that purpose. A wonderful expencc is sxved in fuel, us the saw-dust from the pitch-pine is Found to answer inuteud of flre-wood, and is carried to the mouth of tlie furnace from the pit by elevators now in use. The Bice Machine is also on a new principle and found by experience to answer belter thin any yet in use. The quickness and regularity of the movement, producing it of a superior brightness without breaking the grain The mill is situated on a fine deek, called Cat-Head, on a branch of the Altsmaha River, aud only about half a mile from Durien. Bca Vessels, whose diuught of walor enables them to go to tho wharf at Darien, can load at the Mill, only a short dUtunce off, with great facility 5 as an enclincd plane'from the mill, will enable them \o receive thb lumber into their bow ports,‘almost without expence: and the 'mill, as now in operation, can furnish 40 M. feat of plank per day, which may be increased if fouMl necessary the power being amply suffi cient. The lumber sent from this establishment since it went into operation has been allowed to be superior in quality and regularity in sawing. The commissioners of the Navy of the Uni ted Stutea have approved of the ship planks, furnished from it, aud it is highly probable will give it a preference in future contracts. It has also been seen and justly admired in Ncw-York and Philadelphia. The prospect of a renewed intercourse with the British West India Islands, render* this establishment a desirable mode of investment— offers, in that case, having been made from JAMAICA ALONE, for about half of all the pro duce of the saw-mill. The olcsent owners have no objection to con tinue interested in it to a certain extent, but their other avocations preclude their personal attention to it. For terms and other particulars, apply per sonally or by letter to JOHN M*N1SH, 8avannah. rfp N. B. If not disposed of soon, the mill, with all it* privileges, will be rented for a term of years.
