I would beg leave to tur# the attention
ofyotir readers, and particularly tho fe
male part; to the entertainment offered this
evening by Signor HELLENE.' Merit in
any irdividual, however humble, certainly
should be encouraged, and excellence in
any pursuit, if honorable, as certainly de-,
serves to be rewarded, and particularly so
if it i« one of necessity, as in the case ot
ihc unassuming individual above men-
linned. From bis long and arduous ap
plication to fhe profession he has chosen
fur a subsistence, that of a travelling Trou-
hadour, he has rendered himself almost
incapable of follnwingany other, and at the
same time nas arrived at such a degree of
pe fcctinn, that our pity for the privations
attendant upon a wandering life, is forgot
ten in tlie delight excited b v his perform

specially of our ladies, that I am persuaded
thisappeal from a disinterested person will
not be in vain, as the subject of it is wor
