the effects of fire, the gradual deeuy of tim
ber, and other causes, 'the lines ot many of
the old surveys have become very indistinct,
and in some cases entirely obliterated ; and
as there are at this time, many land warrants
in my hands to’be located, the lines ofthe old
surveys from their indistinctness niight be
crossed, inadvertently, and persons taking
possession and holding seven vears might give
the older grantees some trouble.

It shall be.lawful for the citizfens and suh
