This Evening, May 18,

to hor marriage with Edmund Beauc
hamp, being found during her wander-
ingH in the chamber of Colonel de Rosam-
bert, Lord of the Manor, who had taken up
his residence at tho inn kept by Madams Ger
trude, a village coquet and rivul to Ernestine
The Colonel, pitying Ernestine's muludy, to
prevent suspicion retires to his castle un

with the lover and his friends waiting to pay
their respects to the Colonel, when Ernestine
is discovered sleeping on his couch; jealousy
seizes tho lover ; lie accuses her of falsehood

his hand to Miduine Gertrude. During the
progress of tho piece, ihe Lord of the Manor,
who had taken an interest in the purties, at
tends the marriage festival, when to his sur
prise ho find himself accused of treachery to
wards Ernestine, whose frank avowal of his
and her innocence fails to convince Edmund
Benuchump of her innocence. The instant

between Edmund mid Madame Gertrude, the
SOMNAMBULIST is seen wal ling out of
the window, along the parupet of the Mill, &
passes by means of a plank uoross the dam

lf*6Kds, not being aware before this that Er
nestine was a Sleep Walker, watch her
