A remarkable cure for
TIEUMAT1SM ! by the use of Dr. Jebb’s
Rheumatic Liniment.
Copy of a letter!!
Charlestown, (.Mass ) June 23,1827.
To the Proprietor of Dr. J ebb's Liniment,
Dear Sir—I deem it a duty I own to stif
fering humanity, to acquaint you, and through
you the public, (should you think best) of the
unexpected and surprising cure performed on
myself by the use oft he above most excellent
Medicine. I have been for more than thir
ty years, and sometimes most severely, af
flicted with the Rheumatism ; have been fre-
quently rendered perfectly helpless, and in
consequence confined to mv bed, when it has
required two persons to move tne, being in
such extreme pain ; 1 havo several time he
under the care of the most eminent physic
ians, hut procured only temporary relief. I
one day noticed tho advertisement of I)r.
Jebb’s Liniment, with the testimonials ac
companying it, and was induced to try a bot
tle, which 1 used without much sensible ben
efit, l concluded, however, to persevere, and
bought another battle, and was greatly re
lieved, and by the use of half the third bottle,
was wholly cured, and have never since had
a return oftho pain, which I had not been
t'rotn a month at a time for thirty years, and
it is now more than three years since 1 was
cured, 1 would most earnestly advise every
person siilFcring under this painful complaint,
not to despair of n cure so long as they can
obtain “ Dr. Jebb’s Liniment*’ Von aro at
liberty to make any use of this you may think
advisable.
Most respectfully yours,
CALEB SYMMES.
To tho foregoing testimony, many other
unquestionable proofs might bo added, in fa
vour oftho superior Liniment of Dr. Jebb.—
Nothing but a fair trial, which the proprietor
confidently solicits, can give an adequate idea
of its unrivalled efficacy, in mitigating, and
thoroughly mastering, the excruciating dis
ease, to which it 1ms been successfully ap
plied in a multitude of cases. The opera
tion of the Liniment is often immediate; nnd
it has frequently cured rheumatic affections
of years standing, in four and twenty hours.
It is also recommended with confidence, as
one of the. best applications known for stff-
ne.es of the joints, numbness, sprains, and
chilblains. Price 50 cents.

Tiib Farmer’s Daughter and Robber.
—Some years ago, a fanner living a few miles
from Easton, (Pa.) sent his daughter on
horseback to procure from the bank smaller
notes in exchange for one of one hundred
dollars.
When she arrived there, the bank was shut,
and she endeavoured to effect her objiyt by
offering it at several stores, but could not get
her note exchanged. She hud not gone far
on her return, when a stranger rode up to the
side of her horse, and accosted her with so
much politeness that she had not the suspi
cion of any evil intention on his part. After
riding a mile or two, employed in very sociul
conversation, they came to a very retired
part of the road, and the gentleman com
manded her to give him the bank note. It
was with some difficulty that she could be
made to believe him in earnest, as his demea

In Paris, tho following curious scene li?v
week took place Dufresnoy, an old soldier
of thp republic, (1704.) wag . brought before
the Correctional Court of Police, upon a
charge of vagabondage, when lie gave the fol

been a soldier from the year 1774 until 1810,
f should have remained ono stiff, if I CCfdd,
but no matter. I have a pension from tho

enough to grow) over. No matter; I wished
then to make a filth* traffic of toys for a few
half pence, but that did not succeed with me,
nnd I had nothing left. Some days were yet
to elapse before quarter day could come to my
aid. I did not wish to beg, that would not
become nn old soldier, it would not belong to
Ins stuff; besides to beg, n mnn must have a
hand, and l left mine below in Poland where
our friends nrc now fighting without us. (In
pronouncing these words the old soldier
showed nn nrm mutulnted by an enemy’s
sword.) I went therefore to the Commissary
of Police, to beg him lo place me somewhere
until mv pay day, and he sent me to the pri
