Also, tho following described extensive Steam Saw and Rico Mill property located in Darion, viz : The Engine of 30 horse power, is of the very best description from tlio Manufactory of Boulton, Watt & Co. of Soho, England, and the Machinery from that of tho lute celebra ted Mr. Rennie, of London, after whoso origi nal plan, the Saw Mill is constructed. Tho Sow Mill has live gangs of Saws, and when in operation, furnishes tlio requisite fuel for the Engine, from the slabs and saw dust. The Rice Mill has 16 lairing PPitles on the common construction, and four gangs of crank pestles, which are capable themselves of pre paring, in a very superior stylo, four large tierces of Rice for Market every hour. The timber, with which the Mill is supplied, comes from the present unculled forests on the bau’s of the Oakmulgce, Oconee, Ohuo- pie nn<r Alatamahu Rivers ; and the lumber sawed from it lias a decided preference in the northern and eastern markets of these States and of the British West India Islands. The swamps of the above named rivers, contain immense quantities of red and white Oak and Cypress timber, ns yet next to un touched by the axe, so that every prospect is held forth of a large portion of the newly opened British West India trado being at tracted to the Mill. There are many extensive Rice Plantations in tlio neighborhood of the mill;—and many more valuable tide and inland swamps yet to bo settled. The rough R : ce is received in to the Mill by means of elevations on the edgd of tho wharf, which is 500 feet in length, and from which is shipped the lum ber, by means of inclined planes. From 12 1-2 to 13 feet water con be carried from it to sea, over a very fine Bur, over which 19 feet water has been carrfcd. On the scite, which contains about ten acros (including the natu ral basin'for the logs) are every necessury out. building and other requisites, among which are a Turning Lathe, Brass Foundry, Blacksmith Shop, a small Grist Mill, &c. Both Mills arc now in active operation and will continue to be carried on, notwithstand ing the present advertisement for sale also The following Rico Plantation, containing 1190 acres, situated six miles above Darien, McIntosh county, and fourmiles from Major Butler’s Plantation, and 1 1-2 miles from the road leading from Darien to Fort Barrington. At Buisden’s Bluff, on a branch of Sapelo river, at the distance of 11 or 12 miles to the north of Darien, there is a five acre lot to he included with the sule of this land to serve ns a summer residence. The Bluff is on the Salts, and is considered one of the most pleaBuntand healthful situations in the lower part of Georgia, and ub such has become the resort and summer residence ofseverul of the most respectable planters in the neighbor hood of Darien.
