On Friday last, 24th, instant, O.ner Com
mandery, No. 2, visited Barnesville in full
regalia, to attend the Masonic celebntion.
The masons as they marched through the
streets looked finely. An address was de
livered at the Methodist church, by the
famous Col. Tom. Hardeman, of Macon,
and all who have ever listened to that won
derful* voice, can imagine the rich treat
afforded those who were present. Af’er
the address, a procession was formed and
headed by the excellent Barnesville Band,
marched to a grove just at the edge of the
town where refreshments were served. The
pretty girls were out in force on the occa
sion.
DR. Hunt has given us the particulars
of a very singular accident which occured
Wednesday evening last, a few miles from
town. Mr. William McCard while plowing,
in a field belonging to Mr. John Butts, was
prostrated and rendered unconscious by a
discharge of lightning, the same bolt in
stantly killing the mule at the plow, and
a dog some ten or twelve feet behind Mr.
McCard. At the time ol the accident not
a drop ol rain was falling, and the sky was
hardly overcast. The lightning split up
the single-tree, ran out on the beam, passed
down the rod from the beam to the foot,
spiriting open the foot. The clivis was also
broken. The injured man when left by
the Doctor was doing quite well, and will
recover.

WOMAN'S RIGHTS.
Once who has long studied this absoibing subject
now presents to the women of our country the result of
his investigation. He is happy to say that he has at
last discovered “Woman’s Best Friend ” It is adapted,
especially, to those cases where the xcomb is disorder
ed, and will cure any irregularity of the ‘ menses.”
Dr. J. Bradfleld’s Female Regulator acts like a charm
in “whites,” or in a sudden check of the ‘monthly
courses” from cold, trouble of mind, or like causes, by
restoring the discharge in every instance. So, also,
in chronic cases its action is prompt and decisive, and
saves the constitution from countless evils and prema

TO PHYSICIANS !
Nkvr York, August, 12th 1868.
Allow me to call your attention to my
PREPARITIOX OF COMPOUND EX
TRACT Buniu.
The component parts are BUCIIU, LONG
LEAF, CUBEBS, JUNIPER BERRIES.
Mode of Preparation. —Buchu, in vacuo.
Juniper Berries, by distillation, to form a
fine gin. Cubeb# extracted by displacement
with spirits obtained from Juniper Berries;
very little sugar is used, and a small pros
portion of spirit. It is more palatable than
any now in use.
Buchu, as prepared by Druggist*, is of a
dark color* It is a plant that emits its fra
grance ; the action ot a flame destroys this
(its active principle), leaving a dark and
glutinous decoction. Mine is the color of
ingredients. The Buchu in my preparation
predominates ; the smallest quantity of the
other ingredients are added, to prevent fer
mentation ; upon inspection it will be found
not to be a Tincture, as made in Pharnm
copoea. nor is it a Syrup—and therefore can
be used in case 9 whare tever or inflamation
exist. In this, you have the knowledge of
the ingredients and the mode of preparation.
Hoping that you will favor it with a trial,
and that upon inspection it will meet with
your approbation,
With a feeling of confidence,
I am, very respectfully*
