lation a column to do this king of the agri

of extreme difficulty to condence so as to
occupy a reasonable space, and yet mention
one half the good qualities of this publica
tion. It is noticed more at length in anoth

We are pained to learn of several cases
of severe sickness in town. Mr. Reviere,
or, as he is known among the tovvns-people,
Dick Reviere, ourjolly young stage driver,
has been confined for several days with
what is now pronounced by his physician
intermittent fever. He Ims every attention
paid him, and we hope to see him out aga n
soon, ‘all right.'
Mr. Wallace’s son James, known to
everybody as ‘’Big Jim,” has slso been
prostrated for a week or more. We trust
he will soon recover.
Capt. Ilartsfield has been suffering from
an unusually severe attack of Asthma for
a number of weeks. He has our sympathy
in his affl otion and we hope he will be soon
able to return to business.
A little daughter of Col. W. T. Weaver,
has also been sick—so low at times that her
life was despaired of, but we are glad to
pay, is now in a fair way to recover.
As my numerous friends from timidity
or other cause, have not thought proper to
mention my name in any way calculated to
encourage me to run for the Leyislatorship
of Upson, and as I see at a mere glance at
the marceuvreingß of my many friends that
I am the only one who has shown any anx
iety on the subject, I have concluded to
announce myself, notwithstanding I am
only the 47th that’s out.
It is to be distinctly understood that I am
not after the honor—for I have a pretty
wife and six children, and that is honor
enough for a poor man—but I am keen for
the nine dollars per diem, and the divers
little perquisites which within the last few
years have been so profitable. But should
my numerous friends think they can’t spare
me long enough to represent them in the
Legislature, and as I do not wish to loose a
position, they can confer a favor on me and
themselves by calling at Dr. Sawyer’s,
where I am continuing to sell great bar
gains in groceries, and a few spirits for the
afflicted.
I am the people’s candidate, and expect
the support of all—white and black, Demo
crats and Republicans.

friend, Jabe Dallas. I can recommend him

ingredieuts. The 15uehu in my preparation
predominates ; the smallest quantity of the
other ingredients are added, to prevent fer
mentation ; upon inspection it will be found
not to be a Tincture, as made in Pharma
copoea. nor is it a Syrup —arid therefore can
be used in cases where lever or inflaination
exist. In this, you have the knowledge of
the ingredients and the mode of preparation.
Hoping that you will favor it with a trial,
and that upon inspection it will meet with
your approbation,
With a feeling of confidence,
I am, very respectfully,
