The Union. Hotel Property
&QT : £'2'.sl‘E,
W ILL be drawn in the Court House at Tho-
ninston, Upson Comity, Ga. on the same
plau of tho Land and Gold Lotteries, now draw
ing at Milledgeville. The property has been val
ued by four highly distinguished and disinterested
gentlemen, at twenty thousand dollan‘.- r Forty-
iiinc fiftieth parts of the property consist of Land,
Lots and and Houses, Plantations and Negroes
valued at $10,600, and tho balance, one fiftieth
part, lotted offinto small prizes of various articles
and valued at $100.
The proprietor takes pleasure in rcturuing his
unfeigned thanks to his frieuds and that part of
the public who have encouraged him, for tho lib-
orality already manifested in the purchase of
tickets iu said’ Lottery. The unsold tickets aro
new all placcjl hi the hands of agents in most of
tho principal towns' aud comities iu this Slate.
He further solicits a generous and cutcrprisiug
people to lend him their aid by buying up the bal
ance of the tickets ; for it is only lending for a
very short time ; it will be paid back on the 24lh
of next month (the day on which the Lottery will
be drawn) .5560. fold ! 1!
Vo who have a hungering after gain, aud yc who
."•re sitting in tho valley and shadow of poverty,
iertnnes are now oA'cred to you: Plantations for
farmers; Houses and Lots for merchants; shop
and tools for mechanics ; nndN err rocs to cultivate
tho lam! and wait on tho fortunate;—and above
all, tho Union Hotel, with all its appendages aud
attractions, iu the cculrc of the eastern and west
ern trade, and in oncofthe most healthy and beau
tiful vilagcs its ilia State, emphatically aud verily
tho Traveller's Rest and the Jtm-keepers delight
—valued at twelve thousand eight hundred dollars,
for the trifle, the nothingness, oftlvcdollars ! 1!
A fortune I must have, say vou;
Eero's fortune to content a Jew.
Site’s notccuftn’d to Cherokee,
But spends some precious time w»th me!
You miss her in the golden mires—
Still at the Union, son ! tho shines!
And lest you catch the poor man's rickets,
Make haste md buy tho Uuidu tiekc‘9
.Follow citizens of Georgia 1 upon this subject,
'like interesting to utc and yon, I might he as el
oquent as n:ty pfyour Splendid orators at the late
nn'-i-tariiTConvention at Millcilgcville: but I’will
only say, known as you arc fur your generosity
and emerprize -buy up tho balance of the tick
ets—A short speech that may be worth a long
advantage to yoa.
Now, some of you, property in lots may possess,
Rut by advere events may bo brought to distress;
Aud hko me, o ily ask a fair chance, just to pay
Year debts; then buy—buy the balance, 1 pray.
