wharf attached thereto, amt very safe from fire.
For the convenience of their friends residing be
tween the Ocinnlgce aud Oconee rivers, they
have taken the Wgo and convenient Ware House
recently erected by Mr. (J. B. Wardlaw, iu East
Macon, which from its peculiar situation, is ren
dered quite secure from the danger of fire, and
from w'hcnep Cotton will betaken to the wharves
free of charges. Each of the subscribers will re
side in Macop tin* ensuing season, and promise
their unremitting attention to the iuterest of those
who may favor them with their business and
confidence. Liberal advances will be made on
produce, merchandize and other property’ confi
ded to their care, and strict attention given to the
filling ot*orders, receiving and forwarding goods

ing engaged the services of Mr. & Mry.
Darby, give notice that tha exercises of tho In
stilutiou will commence on the first Monday in
December next.
Mr. Darby as principal of the Academy, will
in addition to a general supervision have spe
cial cljarge of the male departments. The fe
male departments will bo under the particular
direction of Mrs. Darby.

ciety for the purpose of maturing the plan for
the formation of a Library, believing that there
me many members who would be willing (in ad
dition to the works procured by the funds of the
Society,) to aid it by contributions of hooks, are
requested to hsud them in, or a list of them, to
the Secretary, at or before tho adjourned meet
ing on Snturdayeveiiing the 29th inst.
Any other individuals disposed to encourage
this object, can leave auy books they wish to con
tribute with .Mr. W. T. Sage, (tho Secretary.) or
at the Telegraph or Messenger office- They
would also give notice dint individuals not me
chanics, can have tho privilege of tho Libraiy if
elected honorary members, aud by paying the u-
