Philosophy, including the most recent discov eries in Electro-magnetism made by Professor Henry and the Brandon blacksmith. A Telescope' of sufficient power for nil practical purposes will be received before the close of tire Lec tures. Tho instrument is selected by a distinguished Professor, who has lately returned from Paris, ex pressly for the subscriber; not of sufficient power.to s:iihs inhabitants of tho Moon, but to see distinctly its mountains, hills a ul valleys. The subscriber flatters himself ihat the facts and illustrations gathered from tho best American and European scientific journals to ho enabled to offer a course of Philosophical Lectures not unworty the attention of the citizens of Macon. A superior new Steam Boat called ‘"David Crockett” with two powerful Engines, aud several first rate freight boats have been built since the close of the last season and placed on the line. Steam lioat Pioneer, Copt. Goodwin, “ “ David Crockett, “ M' Cormick, will ply regulaily between Darien and Macon, one of them leaving Daricu about once a week with freight boats iu tow. Steam Boat Capt. Donnell, will run constantly between Darien and Savannah, and ull'ordibe greatest despatch to Cotton. The subscriber’s whole attention is devoted to facili tating transportation between -Macon and the Sea Ports. He has invested a largo sum to put bis line in the most complete order, aud believes that his arrange ments for giving despatch to freight and keeping it in good order, while iu his care, will make it the interest of Cotton Shippers and Merchants ordering goods, to continue their favors. At Darien he has secure and convenient Warehouses for reception of Goods, and his Wharves there are covered with sheds, which enables him to keep ail Cotton shipped on his Boats under shelter and protected from the weather, while landed for reshipment.
