pleasure in being able to say
you offer for th^ preventing and the cure of this mala
dy, is lietter adapted to this purpose than any I have
heretofore seen. In the two or three instances I have
known them to be used, much satisfaction has been
expressed: and I have no hesitation to believe It will
generally succeed. I am so well persuaded of this at
this moment, that I cannot forbear to express a wish
that our city through the various apothecaries may bo

SWAIM’S VERMIFUGE.
The most useful Family Medicine ever offered to the Pub
lic. No family ought or ever mil be without it after a
trial.
Patent.
T HIS well known Anti-dyspeptic and ll'orm Medi
cine, has proved successful these twelve years
past, and is universally acknowledged by all whe have
tried it, to be far superior to any other medicine ever
employed in diseases for which itis-recommenned.
is perfectly safe, and no child will refuse to take it.
seldom fails curing Cholera Morbus, Ifys-
entery or Boiccl Complaints, Colic
and Bleeding Piles, cither in grown per
sons or children, aud it gives appetite to almost all de
bilitated persons. \C r orms frequently infest children,
aggravate all other diseases, and are the chief cause of
fertrs, Bowel Complaints, and chronic and uervous dis
eases, incident »o childhood, which are so numerous
and frequently fatal. It is much to be regretted that
thousands of children are swept on; «. rand*r»,i
feeble, pale and emaciated through the first stage of life
—which leads on to pulmonary complaints, &.C.&C.
Worms being especially apt to infest persons of de
bilitated digestive organs and emaciated constitutions,
much mischief is often done by the ordinary i , -orm
medicines, which generally consist of the strongest
purgatives—calomel, that destroyer of the constitution,
bitters, pink root, or spirits of turpentine, worm seed
oil, &c. Articles of this kind may destroy worms, but
they debilitate the stomach, aud often materially in
jure tho general health, without removing the cause
Swaim’s Vermifuge has the peculiar advantage of re
moving the cause of worms, by giving vigor and heal
thy action to the stomach, bowels and organs of diges
tion—thereby removing measles croup hooping cough
and many other complaints. It is by this means that
so many grown persons have been relieved, by its use,
of dyspepsia, sick head-ache, foul or sour stomach,
FOUL BREATH, coughs, And most of the bilious
symptoms, &c. &c. &c.
This medicine will relieve Bowel Complaints or Dys-
entery, Billious Colic, vomiting, sickness, pain or
weakness in the stomach or bowels, loss of a
either in children or grown persons, in a few hours;
and seldom foils curing CHILLS and FEVER or FE
VERA AGUE, and Intermittent or Billious Fevers.

the care of
Mr. B. B. Hopkins,
assisted by his DAUGHTER.
The qualifications of this gen
tleman, hs a Teacher, are so
well known to the community,
we deem it unnecessary to say
any thing by way of recommendation. The school

ving bad.seventy young Ladies and Missesengaged in
Literary and Ornamental studies. Attached to this In
stitution is as good apparatus as is usually found in In
stitutions of this character.
We would invite the attention of the public to the
Male Department
of onr Institution, which hasbeen under the care of the
Her. Mr. Janies C. Patterson,
a gentleman of high Literary attainments and experi
ence in teaching youth for the major partof the present
year. We therefore confidently recommend his
school to the patronage of the public.
Tho Musical Department of the Female School is
now vaoant. A gentleman or lady well qualified to
instruct on the Piano) Forte, can get a good situation
at this place. One who is qualified to give lessons in
French also, would be preferred.
