Rach county containing three thousand persons, agreeably to the foregoing plan of enumeration* shall be entitled to two members; seven thousand, to three members; and tw elve tin usund to four members; but each county shall h^ve at least one, and not more than four members; the representatives shall bt* chosen annually on the first Monday in November, until such day of election be altered by law. That as soon as this bill shall l»e passed, agree ably to the requirements of Com-tituti >n f tbe following .-d;rdl be adopted in lieu of the aections above reciied to wit: in lieu of the third section of the first article of the Constitu tion aforesaid, the Senatc shall be elected biennially on the first Monday in October, and shall consist of forty-seven members, and shall be composed of one member from each senatorial district, which district shall he composed of two coDtignouscounties, not including the county with the lar gest repiesentative population, which shall constitute a se parate district; which district shall be arranged and organi zed by the General Assembly, atthe session when this shall be adopted, and if any new county shall be hereafter for ined, it shall be annexed to one of the districts from which it was taken; and that in lieu of the seventh section of the first article of the Constitution* the following shall be adop ted: the House of representatives shall be composed of on* hundred and thirty members; each county shall have on# Repiesentative, and no county shall have more than two- Representative, thirty seven counties having the greatest population, counting all free white persons, and three-fifths of the people of color, shall have two Representatives; th# said apportionment shall be made by the General Assembly at the session at which this section shall be adopted as nn alteration of the Constitution, by an act to b# introduced af ter the adoption thereof, and anew appointment shall b# made .at the session next after each future enumeration of the inhabitants of this State, made under the Constitutioo and laws thereof, but at no other time. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Slate of Georgia, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the same, That from and immediately after this act shall have passed iu conformity with the Constitution of this State, it shall and may bejawful for all Major Generals, and Brigadier Gene rals, to be elected b\ the people ot the respective Division or Brigades, and all persons subject to do militia duty, sha . be entitled to vote for the same only.
