erally slightly lowvr than last evening's figures,
and subseque if dealings were marked by a
boavy tone, although the list as a ml? was in
tensely dull and the movom nt scarcely per
cep ibiti. -Manipulation was cent red in Oregon
Transcontinental and Atchison, and in the
former was attended by con-ddornble success, a
decline of 114 per cent, to 34*4 <H.*currtng in the
la-t hour. The im pres-ion in At-bison whs less
marked and little buying soon started the list
up again, and most st ck* were carried above
the first prices on a rebound. Mora animation
*vas shown on the upward movement, but the
market was dull at all times, only Richmond
and West Point, begides the two stocks men
tioned, displaying auiy activity whatever. The
strong features of the day were Rock Island
and Tennessee Coal Those shares secured ms
terml gains. The demand for stocks increased
in the last few minutes, but the close was quiet
and firm at but slight changes from first prices.

there was no confidence among bulls, simply

favorable on potatoes. Sold first shipment to
day at $6 00. The outlook is favorable and the
