THE Y. M. C. A. CONTESTS.
The Gymnasium Exhibition Last Night

The contest last night in the Young Men’s

fsr the most hotly contested of the season.
A large audience was present, fully one

The second event was the pole vault.
First place was won by Krenson, 10-incb

Too much cannot be said In favor of Di

The drilling was perfect. From the time the

they were subjects of much favorable com

were in the class drill of the first part, and
eight gave an exhibition of mat work. The
tumbling and pyramids were exceptionally
tine.
It was evident to those preeent that under
the new management, the gymnasium will
be more popular than ever and toe mem

AT THE THEATER.
•“The Clemenceau Case” the Week’s
Closing Attraction
The new “Clemenoeau Case” will make
its bow at tbe theater this afternoon and
to-night. Tbe play has boon revised aud
rewritten since it was last seen here. So
rnuah has been said about the play as it
was that it is familiar to the public and
especially to the readers of fiction. The
management of the company which will
present it here claims that so tnauy garbled
versions have been given that it has mis
lead many as to the author’s real object,
which Is a moral lesson, and forcibly told.
Tba dromatlzationloffered by Laura Alberta
gives precedence to dramatio situation
and comedy inoident. Those who see tbe
play to-day can judge for themselves as to
its merit.
