HARRY Hill SET FREE
The Cincinnati Authorities Fail to
Hold Him Long Enough.
Atlanta. Ga.. Dec. 2. —Chief of Police
Connallv to-day received notice that
Harry Hill, who has been under arrest in
Cincinnati for several days past, has been
released. The news of Hill's release was
delivered in a few minutes after the train
carrying Spe ml Officer Jett and the re
quisition papers necessary to bring Hill
back to Georgia, pulled out of the depot.
The officer was not stopped, however, but
will go on to Cincinnati in hopes of yet
getting his hands on him. .1 K. Tolleston.
the prosecutor, says he will pursue him
across the continent but what he will
have him back in a Georgia court.
The case has turned out as has been
predicted. When Hill's attorneys urged
the governor to refuse the requisition for
Hill last Wednesday, at least until he
was indicted by the grand jury, their
purpose was to delay matters so that the
Cincinnati authorities would set their
prisoner free for want of proper authority
to hold him longer. Hill s attorneys be
haved well, for during the delay in find
ing the indictment and the getting out of
the requisition papers tbetime which Hill
would be held in Ohio elapsed and he
was released. He doubtless made haste
to get away from the Queen city, and it is
likely that many things will happen be
fore he is in Atlanta again.
DECLAKED NOT A FCGITIVE.
Cincinnati, 0.. Dec. 2.—Harry Hill, the
alleged forger, who was arrested here a
few days ago. was dismissed in police
court to-day. It was established that
Hill furnished bond in Atlanta to answer
the charge on which he is said to be
wanted nest May. and Judge Gregg de
cided that he was not a fugitive.

ALAPAHA DOTS.
In Jail for Hog Stealing-—Putting in
, Oats.
Alapaha, Ga., Dec. 2.—Mr. L. S. Price,
foreman of the bridge gang on the Bruns
wick and Western railroad, was brought
home yesterday with a broken leg, caused
by jumping from his crank car, and get
ting his foot hung between the ties, and
his car running over him. Dr. Julian, the
railroad surgeon, and Dr. Ashley, of this
place, soon had the bone set and his leg
in splinters. At last accounts he was
resting comfortably.
A negro was arrested here yesterday
for hog stealing. From reports he has
been doing a thriving business, stealing
hosts here, changing marks and ship
ping to Tifton, and stealing there
and shipping here. It seems
he has accumulated quite a stock at each
place.
Farmers are now engaged putting in
oats for another year. Hog killing and
cane grinding have been goinc on torsome

ttie time being, Enough meat will ue
killed to supply the immediate section for
next year
