The bitter attack made on Gov. Mitchell
with reference to tho distribution of the fund
returned to Florida by the United States gov
eminent under the direct tax net of congress
is considered most unjust in Tallahassee.
Those who are In a position to know what is
being done in the premises assert that every
thing . possible is being done to adjust the
claims and get them in shape so that the
amount can be justly distributed pro rata
among the claimants without doing injustice
to any one of them The claims
amount to more than #15.000. ami as
only a little ovrr #5X003 hits been re
turned to' the state. It will be seen that to pay
the full amount of .any claim would work an
injustice upon the other claimants. Hence,
to obviate turthe# confusion, no claim can be
paid tm .il the oddity of ail applications has
l cen determined so that It cun be seen what
percentage of claims can ho paid with tne
fund's on hand. Au, expert accountant is now
