HE’S A THI i: MISSION Alt A.
Firemen Will Sliow Their Gratitude
to White Hibbon Superintendent.
Superintendent Route Stevens, of the
White Ribbon Mission, has earned the
gratitude of the firemen by his kindness
in serving them with hot coffee and sand
wiches at times when these things are
most appreciated. No matter what time of
night the fire tell sounds, if the conflagra
tion appears to be of any moment, Mr.
Stevens Is sure to be on hand with his
supply of coffee and sandwiches. These
refreshments are very acceptable to the
firemen, especially when they are worn
out and exhausted with hard work.
Mr. Stevens inaugurated his work in
this line with the Lindsay & Morgan fire
when the firemen had an all night job of
it with a lot of very hard work. The night
was also bitterly cold, and Mr. Stevens
refreshments were especially well timed.
At the Yamacraw lire early yesterday
morning Air. Stevens was on hand with
his commissary supplies and the firemen
were agreeably surprised to see him out
so early.
Learning that he Intends to keep up this
good work the firemen at headquarters
have notified Mr. Stevens of their inten
tion of building him a wagon with which
he can transport his supplies with great
er facility. Superintendent Maguire has
volunteered to pay for the wheels and the
men at headquarters will find the rest of
the material and construct the wagon.
