We have given as much attention to our county
matter*, a* the nature of ot.r other business would
allow. We have examined the Books ofthe Clerk
of the Inferior Court, and find a lack of experience,
but the records appear correct and perfectly legible.
We recommend greater care, .as respects neatneis,
both in regard to the Books and Papers of the Oflice.
We find the Books and Papers ot the Clerk of the
Superior Court in their usual good order.
The ltoids are in tolerable order only. We would
especially call attention to the Forsyth Koad through
the YineviUe District, and also the Koad leading
from the Perry Koad to Hartley’s Bridge across
Echeeconee Creek. The several Bridges ofthe Coun
ty are in good Order, except the one at Scott's Mill—
it needs immediate repairing.
We have examined the Jail, and find it kept in as
good order as it can be, under existing circumstan
ces, as it needs some repairs, which can be pointed
out by the Jailor, and to which we call the immedi
ate attentionof the Iu ferior Court.,
For the safety of the Court House, we recommend
to the Iuferior Court, to have the Wooden Mantle
Pieces taken down, aud Iron ones put up in their
stead. We also suggest to tho said Court, the pro
priety and necessity of having a couple of Registers
npunrn at< .» put *** th* Court Room for proper ventilation.
We reeommeud to the next Legislature, as well
v ! as to the members frem this county, to have the law
