It is testified that on one occasion, when spoken to about getting some molasses by his wife, be threw tho jug across the room and smashed it On another occasion, his wife said that a large piece of salt pork which ho brought home wts tainted; he wished her to smell it holding it out to her, hut she said she had already done so, and after some words, she was knocked down with the pork, and the article nibbed on her nose and free. And in conclusion of a list of incidents it was testified that he drove his wife out of his house two years ago, saying he could not live with her. Since that time the wife and children have been living in Malden. The daughters are employed by a firm in the city, and the son is in the Boston Post-Office. There are a number of witnesses waiting for the de fense, which may possibly give a different as pect to the case.—Boston Traveller.
