BRETT, OF THE NEW YORK LUNG INFIRMA
RY.—My connection for the past eight years with
the above Institution, as Chief Physician, and a
twelve years’ course of steady devotion to the cure
of Pulmonary Cpnsnmption and Its kindred diseases,
together with my unrivalled opportunities and ad
vantage of pathological lesearch—aided not a little
by a perfect system of Medical I mho lotion—has en
abled me to arrivo at a decisive, direct, and success
ful course of treatment for the positive and radical
enro of all diseases of the Throat, Ijsngs, and Arc
Passages. Hy inLalation, the vapor and curative
properties of medicines are directly addressed to the
diseased organs and the Integument. I do not ad
vise the use of Medical Inhalation of any kind. In
the exclusion of antral treatment-. nnd a!though 1
consider it a nsefnl adjuvant in tlie proper manage
ment ofthoso fearful and often fatal diseases, yet I
deem it very necessary that each patient should have
the benefit of both general and local treatment The
success of my treatment in tbo above diseases, and
the high character of the Institution oxer which I
have so long had the honor to preside, are too well
known to noed any eulogy or comment from me.—
At the solicitation of many private and professional
frieads, through whose philanthropic aid the above
charity has been long and liberally supported, and
after ane consideration, I bavo concluded to make
sueh arrangements aa will bring the benefits of my
experience and treatment within the reach of all
and not confine myself, as heretofore, to those only
who entered the Infirmary, or who wereableto visit
me at my office. Ilopingtherefore tbatthe arrange

wide, and a scant sixteenth of one inch thick,) and
of any requisite length to suit the bale, is taken
in the hand, one end passed through the opeuing,
from the under aide, of one end of the under part
of the lock to the length of about one inch, and then
bent over the end of the lock. The other end of the
hoop is then passed round the bale and drawn through

and then bent in the same manner as the other. The
button is then turned back to its place over them,
and the hoop is fast on the bale, and the balo may be
