J. J. Marcs,Esq.—Dear SirI have very great
pleasure in writing you, touching the effects of yonr
Sutler- Phosphate of Lime on our Cotton crop. Hav
ing tested it against four other preparations. I find
the appearance of the plant is most hopefrtl and
promising, as regard* a large and remunerating
yield. I feel certain your inenare will give from
one hundred, to one hundred and thirty pounds of
Cotton more than any o her preparation per acre.
It la a remarkable fact that no Knst iaaeen in the
plant where your Manure has been used, wbilrall
oth-rs ebow Rust more or lees, and tbi* is eBpecial-
ly the ease where Guano baa boon need.
And last, though not least, as regards the Planter *
interest. 1 feel certain that Cotton from Super-Phoe-
pbato will Weigh Much Heavier than from any eth
er preparation, in this particular. I Mlieve Fhor-
phates are destined to work tho greate.t poas b *
revolution in the Cotton-frowlng States of the South.
The plants took n oat vigorous and luxurious, some
being six feet high, end holding from eighty to one
hundred and tonltolle, each stalk.
I am. very truly. H - L«HAM.

quiry in regard to the Keese’s Manipulated Guano
as a fertiliser—I am well pleased so far as 1 have
tested its use.' I applied about 100 lbs. peracre on
land that was badly worn, and not of the best when
fresh. The product of the field where the Guano
was applied is over eoo lbs. of seed cotton per acre.
The same kind of land withont the Gnano produced
thout 100 lbs. per acre. My mode of applying the
Gnano was by depositing it in the drill before bed
ding up the land, I bare not tried its use on corn,
but hsve no doubt but it will succeed well. I shall
nse it pre - . ty extensively on my next crop.
